Dude, your tutorials are like sim school and the multiple 3 inch binders you get to memorize. I LOVE it! DCS is like a massive procedures trainer to me and then you get to go fight, very unlike sim school. Thanks for the time you put into your vids, mate. They’re fantastic. Fights on….

Thanks for the kind words mate, I try to make everything as easy to understand as possible so I’m glad it makes sense to you 👌🏻 I love procedures and check lists too so it’s a perfect fit ☺️

Awsome video. I new most of it but someone can always teach you something. DCS Scratchpad is awsome. There is even one with a virtual keyboard. Great 4 ppl flying VR. Keep the videos coming.

So very helpful. Made my own checklist based on your instructions. It will take a few times going through it on a multiplayer server before I memorize the process. This will make finding the locations of the side missions on 4YA servers easier to target with FLIR. I've spent valuable time trying to visually find the side mission locations (nearly impossible without using F10 map or already having a waypoint) and circling while trying to find the right target. The new Scratchpad with the automatic coordinate feature saves so much time as well. Thanks.

At the 10:12 mark, there is a white dot in the middle of the screen between the islands. If you move the screen around, place that dot on where you want to go, and press the L/L button at the bottom of the notepad, it will auto type the coordinates in and save you time instead of typing.

Nice and comprehensive.

I just installed "the way". People should definitely learn how to manually add waypoints but after that it's a huge time saver

Brilliant series mate. I finally got around to learning the Hornet, and your vids have become my go to. For future reference, you mention that MGRS grid coords are not as accurate because there are less numbers. Not so. Because you defined the initial grid square (100km x 100km), which is then further broken down into a 10 figure grid reference (5x northings & 5x eastings), you have pinpointed your location down to 1m.😉

Cheers mate, glad they help you out ☺️ also good to know about the grid accuracy 👌🏻👌🏻 cheers for the knowledge 💣

So damn useful! Thanks I'm having massive problems trying to work out how to use Mavericks and JDAMs - trying to find a target on the FLIR when flying overhead has done my brain in! I cannot slew to ANY target. Then the screen blacks out all the time. Yet to fire a single missile lol Its challenging. Edit: Cannot get that little text editor to work at all. Placed the 'Scripts' file into saved games but pressing the key combo activates nothing.

Assuming everyone in the squadron has the DCS WP Editor, can I upload the file to a cloud for all to save and upload to their planes (for the AV8B)? Thanks!

How did you do to have that field of view without having issues on HUD in cockpit view? I mean I do rshif + rctrl + * or / to adjust head but my hud also zoom in or zoom out and I can't see anything
@TorniQuetHD3 жыл бұрын
You mean zoom in to look at stuff in the cockpit?? The binds are called zoom in slow and zoom out slow for my zoom

What would be the benefit of using 1 type of coordinate vs another? I use sec for GPS and tgp loadouts. I havent used the others though. Thanks.

Using the MGRS is the best method hitting a fixed target location. Using the 10 digit (UTM mode) allows you to identify 10 targets if needed. Often times let’s say you’re hitting 3 buildings and you need to put x3 GBU-54s or 38s on each. The UTM mode with 10 digit grids allows you to put the bomb within 1 meter of that coordinate. You can assign 3 each GBUs to each building. Then pickle all 9 and turn off target. A true fire and forget. Otherwise I use Lat/Lon for TP, WP, MP, & WO/S. Basic navigation, lat/Lon is good enough. You need MGRS (UTM) for precise strikes.

NOt to bad of a video. I feel the sequencing part cane be more elaborate. But I read chucks and manage to figure it out haha. IS it possible to add course line to each waypoint? It's because I got 4 airports as Waypoints and I want each of them to have their courseline.
@TorniQuetHD2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you can’t add a course line for each waypoint, every time you switch to a different waypoint it will turn it off and you’ll have to put the new updated one in

G'day all, I had the scratchpad working a while ago but then lost my HD so had to reinstall everything DCS. I'm now unable to download the scripts file (only option given is to save the link) but have also tried copy/paste 'ing' the code. Nothing's working. Anyone able to check if they can still download the 'scripts' file? Just like to know if it's my doing or if the source is no longer valid. Cheers!
@ludotheshark1338 Жыл бұрын
Disregard.... fixed now. I had multiple saved games folders but after watching your vid 'tips for DCS' I was able to figure it all out. Back to my re-famil of the Hornet. Cheers!

Interesting to see you use scratch pad but don't use the L/L button on the bottom to grab the way point data right of the f10 map. No need to type it in the pad at all.
@dennisbeck7892 Жыл бұрын
Scratch pad is great for pinpointing a spot on the map and gathering coordinates. But you still have to type it in.
