@rogantakeda1960
@rogantakeda1960 11 жыл бұрын
A simulation like that will take a very long time to make, not to mention it's a lot of work. And then you won't be able to do anything until you learn all the complicated procedures for how long? Arma goes by authenticity and accessibility. But it would be nice though.
@MegaLordBane
@MegaLordBane 11 жыл бұрын
I'd be fine learning how to work the controls, getting flying skills, etc. I want more authenticity over the accessibility, that's just my opinion though.

@Hoot151
@Hoot151 11 жыл бұрын
they should totally implement this into arma, authenticity over accessibility all the way, make it so you actually have to learn to fly so you actually need pilots instead of any douche bag out of the bunch hopping in a pilot seat

This comment is kinda 4 years late, but thank you. Watching these videos on how simple most of this eems is very nice. I've spent the last couple days just studying ways to fly in DCS and how it can apply to real life piloting. Makes me want to be in the Airforce
@MrHans30

Actually, quite a few things are different to the original startup procedures. For example arming the ejection seat is one of the last things you do in something called the 'last chance' stage, which is when you're almost holding short of the runway and youre bombs are being armed. Also your pitot heat usually gets turned on just before takeoff because otherwise it'd just burn through. Just because it's not in the sim doesn't mean it's like that in real life..

Devildog.. Go into options>controls tab. select A-10C sim, and axis commands. Click on your rudder axis, hit the axis tune button and slide the curvature slider to 22. This will be a good starting point to try out and will make your rudder less sensitive for the small movements and more sensitive when you've used full deflection on your rudders. 22 is the number I use and works great for ground steering and aerial gunnery.

On landings I recommend using Dynamic braking as long as possible which means keeping your nose wheel off the ground to maximize drag and save the brakes. I was taught this by a real world F-16 flight instructor.

don't turn your battery switch off when you shut your apu down. the battery is necessary for your primary instruments to function in case of engine failure so you can land etc. just keep it on once you turn it on.

Turn EGI and CDU on as soon as the APU starts. #1 throttle (left) over the hump first, after the start cycle light goes out, #2 over the hump. EAC is said in the A-10 world as E-ack, and CICU is pronounced kick-u. Just a little real world info for you. Love the video and the graphics though. Looks like an awesome game.

Leave your battery on, if you have a dual flamout you will still have your instruments/lights, also this keeps the battery connected to be charged. By turning it off and you loose both generators (dual flameout) you will not be able to tell whats going on. Visit us on UOAF on Sundays. Also come in with your boards out so you're up on your n1. This is in case you have to go around your spool up time is minimized.
@DD-sw1dd
@DD-sw1dd 7 жыл бұрын
Battery power needs to stay on at all times after spool up. If you ever loose power in both engines and have to air restart you'll need to realign the INS as well. Your navigation will be screwed until alignment finishes again. Leaving the battery on after startup is how it's suppose to be done. Your battery won't go dead bc the generator is handling the load....and it functions as redundancy incase you loose engine power.

Jackbenv never denied it, heck it's ALOT to take in, but that's the fun part about this, DD figured out how to start the a-10 up, knows how to atleast deploy most weapons in the most simple way, now he gets to learn a2a refueling, missile avoidance, combat employment, CDU usage, waypoints/steerpoints, navigation systems and how to work together with other players... if you put it in perspective, it's little however the first steps are the most difficult. Atleast we know we've got some fun videos coming up

Devil. Ideally, on landing, you want to keep your inertial indicator (circle with inverted T) between 0 and 5 degrees below horizon, and maintain about 140kts, to avoid smacking the ground and breaking things.

Do you have the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle? I just have the joystick and need to buy a good sim throttle w/ buttons & switches. Is the Thrustmaster one worth $236 bucks or any other ones that are as good or better for similar (or less) money? p.s. Love DCS world. Love the DCS videos, keep them coming! A few questions on your start up sequence though: Any particular reason why you didn't start the CDU NAV alignment process once you got power to the bird? That's usually the first thing I do since it takes so darn long. Also, I usually like to perform a bit test on the IFFCC before putting it into active mode, seems weird that you performed the oxygen test but not that one.

Hey DDG I know this isn't a Marine Corps Mondays video but im thinking about being a MP in the Marines. Are MP's considered POGs? Because from what I know they also go over seas. Not too much info on the internet, maybe you can help thanks man.
@HighGTurn6
@HighGTurn6 11 жыл бұрын
Technically yes they are, "POG" means Person Other than Grunt". MP's aren't Grunts, but then again they do patrols while deployed too. Just so you know Grunts don't think highly of MP's and are considered the ultimate Blue Falcons lol.
@Paintballed154
@Paintballed154 11 жыл бұрын
HighGTurn6 Ohh Ok thanks man. I might think twice now for applying for MP lol. But hey they get sprayed with OC spray which I heard hurts like a BITCH so I'll still respect em. Idk what to choose since im still debating between artillery, LAV crewman, MP (lol) or something else idk. LAV crewman would be cool but I heard against IED's they get torn to pieces but the newer models of LAV might be a little stronger armor wise
@HighGTurn6
@HighGTurn6 11 жыл бұрын
That's cool man, I personally wouldn't choose any combat MOS, they don't give you any technical skills you can use in the civilian world besides leadership and discipline, sure the experiences are awesome, but who is gonna hire a machine gunner or a Artillery man once you get out? My dad was a grunt during Desert Storm, he told me the same thing lol. Makes sense, but honestly, if you wanna go for a combat MOS, more power to you, my best bud just became a Grunt, he loves it, some days suck, some days are chill.
@Paintballed154
@Paintballed154 11 жыл бұрын
HighGTurn6 Yeah dude makes a lot of sense to have an MOS that would help when I got out. Very true what you're saying that they don't want to hire infantryman lol which sucks imo. Either way the respect you get when you tell people you're a Marine is cool. Whatever your MOS is civilians won't care if you are a POG or not since they have no clue what that is. They think you were a regular 03 lol which is what used to think.
@HighGTurn6
@HighGTurn6 11 жыл бұрын
Lol yeah people won't know the difference haha, I wanted to join up as a POG and my Grunt bud was making fun of me, saying that i'm a pussy for not wanting to be a Grunt, so I told him "Yeah well, have fun writing 0311 on your resume when you get out fucker" He said "fuck you haha". All in good fun, I totally respect our Grunts, hats off to them. Best of luck to you bud.

You flyed it? What most people don't realise, is that Airforce pilots are pretty smart, the academic requirements are a hell of a lot higher than other branches of the military. For that reason, I dispute your claim of ever flying an A10. An actual military pilot would not use the word "flyed", nor would they type 1 continuous sentence with no punctuation.

***** Depends on the mission if you are just flying around with no objective then it is most likely you only hit the start up switches and that is about it. If you are going into combat how ever you will need to switch a lot more on I.E countermeasures,guns,missiles e.t.c. But for the most part all you do is the start up procedure which is about 30-50% of the switches. But like i said depends on the task at hand.

Dynamic Survival Once you try joining a server DO NOT touch ANYTHING. Just sit there until you get into a game.

If you can walk away... It's a good landing ;) Great work man, takes some patience to learn DCS. Good job and keep it up.

On your landing you were actually too slow with all of that weight. Your nose was flaring fairly high way too long and way too early. You should really only flare your nose up that high when you flare to slow your vertical speed for your touchdown

Damn Devil, start putting out videos just as I get back into this amazing sim. Come join me and my friends if you want, his name is Bluedrake42 and you can find him on here. He puts out solid videos and isn't a small channel, has a little over 10k subs.

Oh yeah and half of the dials and buttons aren't even used often. And btw, devil, while you're in your ascent, you should change your group/self ID and your laser code, not on the ground. Also, one of the first things you should turn on in the A-10C is the alignment/NAV switches. I personally turn them on right after I turn the battery, inverter, etc. The weapon systems are also very easy to learn. I recommend you start learning how to use bombs with the GBU-12 and the CBU-105 (watch a few tutorials on those) as I remember you made a video a while back where I believe you did ground attack with just guns or something and maybe it wasn't even targets you were shooting at. I forget :). The landing speed can range between 120/130-160 depending on your weight. One last piece of advice: fuck what the tutorial says. Following every exact order it tells you to do stuff and when wastes time and can be confusing. For example, it tells you to turn NWS off at 70 knots. I turn mine off by instinct. When I feel it's too sensitive, I turn it off. Sometimes I even turn it off right after I start rolling down the runway or before it. Hope this helps a little bit in your quest to learning how to use a few of the systems in the A-10C. Good luck :D
