I wish there was full simulation like this in Arma 3/2
@rogantakeda196011 жыл бұрын
A simulation like that will take a very long time to make, not to mention it's a lot of work. And then you won't be able to do anything until you learn all the complicated procedures for how long? Arma goes by authenticity and accessibility. But it would be nice though.
@MegaLordBane11 жыл бұрын
I'd be fine learning how to work the controls, getting flying skills, etc. I want more authenticity over the accessibility, that's just my opinion though.
@shaunh246711 жыл бұрын
MegaLordBane A option to turn this on or off would be amazing though.
@MegaLordBane11 жыл бұрын
Shaun H Yeah, would make it more viable. As people said, it would take awhile to implement..but the quality of the game would be insurpassable.
@Hoot15111 жыл бұрын
they should totally implement this into arma, authenticity over accessibility all the way, make it so you actually have to learn to fly so you actually need pilots instead of any douche bag out of the bunch hopping in a pilot seat
@MrHans3011 жыл бұрын
Actually, quite a few things are different to the original startup procedures. For example arming the ejection seat is one of the last things you do in something called the 'last chance' stage, which is when you're almost holding short of the runway and youre bombs are being armed. Also your pitot heat usually gets turned on just before takeoff because otherwise it'd just burn through. Just because it's not in the sim doesn't mean it's like that in real life..
@dfurtman11 жыл бұрын
Devildog.. Go into options>controls tab. select A-10C sim, and axis commands. Click on your rudder axis, hit the axis tune button and slide the curvature slider to 22. This will be a good starting point to try out and will make your rudder less sensitive for the small movements and more sensitive when you've used full deflection on your rudders. 22 is the number I use and works great for ground steering and aerial gunnery.
@eLLocoUno2611 жыл бұрын
Very interesting to see how everything starts up with the sequence of buttons/switches to get that A-10C 100% running. This will be awesome to see it in action!

Turn EGI and CDU on as soon as the APU starts. #1 throttle (left) over the hump first, after the start cycle light goes out, #2 over the hump. EAC is said in the A-10 world as E-ack, and CICU is pronounced kick-u. Just a little real world info for you. Love the video and the graphics though. Looks like an awesome game.

On landings I recommend using Dynamic braking as long as possible which means keeping your nose wheel off the ground to maximize drag and save the brakes. I was taught this by a real world F-16 flight instructor.

I play the standalone game DCS A-10C Warthog and the first mission in the first campaign makes you take off before the enemy gets on the airstrip close to you. It is a couple minutes! Around 3-5 perhaps. I'm still playing tutorials, so I'm really looking forward to completing that escape mission :D

Leave your battery on, if you have a dual flamout you will still have your instruments/lights, also this keeps the battery connected to be charged. By turning it off and you loose both generators (dual flameout) you will not be able to tell whats going on. Visit us on UOAF on Sundays. Also come in with your boards out so you're up on your n1. This is in case you have to go around your spool up time is minimized.

Love the DCS videos, keep them coming! A few questions on your start up sequence though: Any particular reason why you didn't start the CDU NAV alignment process once you got power to the bird? That's usually the first thing I do since it takes so darn long. Also, I usually like to perform a bit test on the IFFCC before putting it into active mode, seems weird that you performed the oxygen test but not that one.

@DD-sw1dd7 жыл бұрын
Battery power needs to stay on at all times after spool up. If you ever loose power in both engines and have to air restart you'll need to realign the INS as well. Your navigation will be screwed until alignment finishes again. Leaving the battery on after startup is how it's suppose to be done. Your battery won't go dead bc the generator is handling the load....and it functions as redundancy incase you loose engine power.

Jackbenv never denied it, heck it's ALOT to take in, but that's the fun part about this, DD figured out how to start the a-10 up, knows how to atleast deploy most weapons in the most simple way, now he gets to learn a2a refueling, missile avoidance, combat employment, CDU usage, waypoints/steerpoints, navigation systems and how to work together with other players... if you put it in perspective, it's little however the first steps are the most difficult. Atleast we know we've got some fun videos coming up

Oh yeah and half of the dials and buttons aren't even used often. And btw, devil, while you're in your ascent, you should change your group/self ID and your laser code, not on the ground. Also, one of the first things you should turn on in the A-10C is the alignment/NAV switches. I personally turn them on right after I turn the battery, inverter, etc. The weapon systems are also very easy to learn. I recommend you start learning how to use bombs with the GBU-12 and the CBU-105 (watch a few tutorials on those) as I remember you made a video a while back where I believe you did ground attack with just guns or something and maybe it wasn't even targets you were shooting at. I forget :). The landing speed can range between 120/130-160 depending on your weight. One last piece of advice: fuck what the tutorial says. Following every exact order it tells you to do stuff and when wastes time and can be confusing. For example, it tells you to turn NWS off at 70 knots. I turn mine off by instinct. When I feel it's too sensitive, I turn it off. Sometimes I even turn it off right after I start rolling down the runway or before it. Hope this helps a little bit in your quest to learning how to use a few of the systems in the A-10C. Good luck :D

You flyed it? What most people don't realise, is that Airforce pilots are pretty smart, the academic requirements are a hell of a lot higher than other branches of the military. For that reason, I dispute your claim of ever flying an A10. An actual military pilot would not use the word "flyed", nor would they type 1 continuous sentence with no punctuation.

People may think that this shit is tough. I can assure you that it's not. Of you want to actually TRY and learn it, if I can learn it in less than 30 minutes, than anybody can. It looks hard but it's really actually very easy. Once you learn it and start it up manually every time, it becomes natural and second nature. If you don't want to manually start it up, you can even press right windows+home to auto start it. Seriously guys, it's not hard. It honestly would be cool if DCS and ARMA could be brought into one game, but that's WAYYYY unrealistic for that happening in the next 10 years IMHO. If it were reality, though, I would laugh as hard as I did when DCS was added to Steam, watching everybody try to fly these planes, especially the pro ARMA pilots. Lol. Would be great. I'm a very good ARMA pilot IMO, but when I try, I am also a very good pilot in DCS. DCS isn't a game where you don't need very much effort to succeed for most people, and maybe requires even more teamwork than ARMA.
