Maintainer Private First Class Siefer journal entry #1 Me and the boys barely got acquainted with the pilot of Wolfpack 1-1 before we got shipped off to our FARP near the front. I heard rumors that he liked to be a bit reckless in the sims with his engagements by attacking targets with less that optimal munitions. Turns out they're true. Those 70mm hydras wont do much against a modern tank besides piss it off but I gotta respect a pilot that has the balls to try! Some minor damage from small arms fire and what looked like some 12.7 should be pretty easy to patch up. Here's hoping I don't have to put together another "Bucket of Bolts" like grandpa did.

Glad you all enjoyed this little bit of writing and a not so subtle reference to wolf's older series. For those wondering I am still quietly lurking around the channel and I'm planning on starting a new series based on his exploits with some more modern aircraft if he starts a series on them. For now I'm just gonna say that the next string of journal entries I write for a series I'll put the name of the aircraft out for you all to chime in on on wolf's discord! Till then this Greasemonkey Actual signing out!

One or two more notes for you. When George stores a target change your acquisition source to that target (one the COORD page. Select T01 or whatever it is. You can also select it on the TSD and select CAQ to make it your acquisition source.) I noticed your range souce was always M1.5 which gives you no SA on how close you are getting to a threat. To tell if you have a NAV range or MAN range on the left side of the HAD you see M1.5. That is a default MAN range for the PLT. If you see N1.8 you have selected a coordinate as a range source ard are getting dynamic range updates into the WP for shooting and getting to close to a target (e.g. getting your helicopter shot at. :) ) Your rockets missed because your rocket steering cursor was not aligned and you were out of trim (the port-starboard effect may not be modelled yet though. I don't keep close tabs on DCS.) When you shoot rockets, line up all your symbology, (head tracker, rocket steering cursor, acquisition source (i.e. George's TADS LOS crosshair.) NORM rockets are a pain in my opinion so try FIXED NAV range rockets as long as you are a fan of diving fire (Reference above for selecting a coordinate as an acquisition range source.) That should get you better effects. Also COOP rockets aren't a bad option with running rockets. George drives your range source with the TADS Laser that way and you can just align all your symbology, match and shoot. I actually like George. He sounds almost like a real CPG.
@sir_quacks55432 жыл бұрын
Oh, and you have to select ot as ACQ AFTER you WAS Rockets or it defaults to your MAN range. Fun facts...

No one hangs anything off the handles in real life accept when they leave the aircraft. I am one of the few guys that hangs his helmet there, but my hook is attached to my helmet. I got the idea from a prior OH-58 pilot. That little hook draws my eyes away from the environment which is bad for a gun pilot.

Hi, excellent video,I'm a big il2 fan so never watch DSC but I thought,as it's you I would give it a go. Wow more of the same please. The Apache looks fun to fly and fight. Does this have a career mode?
@coraxthedestroyer44482 жыл бұрын
DCS does not have a career mode persay. It does have a very powerful mission editor built in in which you can string together a campaign with a story as you would please. Some very talented people make some very compelling missions and campaigns. I love IL2 as well but DCS is king to me.
