This man was part of the reason I chose to work on cars. 10 years later I'm still in the auto industry and it feels like home. He had a large influence on who I was when I was younger, and it's sad that during an event like this it becomes obvious to yourself.

I remember watching this video with my dad 10 years ago, I was 8. I was obsessed with this guy, my dad and I played so much dirt 3 driving his gym 4 car around the free roam map. It was on my bucket list to meet Ken Block one day. My dad had to tell me constantly “he’s just a normal guy, he’s just a person” but this guy was my hero. He was the mascot of my childhood interests. He was exactly who I wanted to be when I grew up, zero differences and nobody else. I built lego cars and made stop motion videos based off of gymkhana. He got me into cars and racing and drifting, i would’ve missed out on so much if I never watched this video for the first time 10 years ago. Watching these videos reminds me how much I’ve grown, but also the ways I’ll always stay the same. Thank you Mr Block

Like Michael Schumacher (though not dead) it was also a tragic accident in the snow, after all the racing they both have done... I will remember him by seing or re-seing a lot of his groundbreaking, fun and entertaining videos. He always made a great and genuine appereance, and seemed to be a great man, that I think left a very good and lasting impression on this world, that he left way to soon! 43, a number no one heard of, but the number we all needed that we all know and love. I still cannot get over that he passed from something so miniscule... idk, to this day I struggle with how he left us as it was undeserved. Ken, I love you brother. You gave me hope in life during my most down times, you gave me the confidence to pursue things I never would. Ken gave me the courage, the excitement, and the understanding what it is to be alive. For that, I cannot thank you enough. We all miss and love you and I ride daily in your name!

RIP Ken Block! #KB43VER When I skated DC Shoe Co was my favorite skating company! The Manteca 2s we’re my favorite silhouette! Had that particular shoe in varies colors! The Court Graffik was my second. I loved your gymkhana videos… The you started driving for Ford… I was a mechanic for Ford. I walked with a little more pride knowing I worked for the same company (at a completely different level of course) as the most bad ass driver I knew of! The Hoonicorn will be on my “car wishlist” forever. I’ve never met you, but I’ve watch countless of your videos and you’ve inspired me not just in the car world but also as a father figure I’d like to be like. Thank you so much! Hope you’re still roasting tires with the big guy upstairs! Much love and respect to your family!

This is such a bizarre video to bring one to tears lol. I want to say so much about it... I was 18 and two years into committing to becoming an automotive journalist or bust... Consuming every single bit of the digital audio media garden hose. And just... this video was like nothing I'd ever seen. Who knows how many times I went through it. Honestly, it might be the definitive thing that finally got me to give rally (as a whole) a real look (lots of things working against that growing up in the Midwestern US.) Pure, supremely original joy.
