Founded 30 years ago in 1988, DCU Drama is one of the most well established, active, and welcoming societies on campus, and has cemented itself as a crucial part of society life in DCU. Run by a committee of students, each year our society hosts five flagship shows, a Panto, a Musical and 3 plays divided between Semester 1 and 2. Shows are held on DCU Glasnevin campus in The Helix, ans the SU’s The Venue, or on St. Patrick’s campus in the Auditorium. Here at DCU Drama, we maintain the view that Drama is not just for performers, and strive to make sure our members are given their opportunity to shine in their field. Though we are one of DCU’s largest societies, we are a tight knit community.
Hadestown is Jazz musical which follows two intertwining love stories, young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and his wife Persephone. In this rendition we've chosen to focus on the battle between destiny and choices happening in the show, are they doomed to sing it again or are they able to change their story. And most importantly, we're telling a tale of a love that never dies.
