Satellite High School's performance of "Wait For Me II" from Hadestown on 11/22/2019 at their fall showcase "The Greatest Showcase." Apologies for the shaky beginning. This was their competition piece for their District Thespian competition in which they got a Superior rating.

This Hermes is PERFECT. They're all great, and but Hermes and the Fates really steal the show. Also I love Persephone in a moto jacket?? Obviously they don't have the costumes from the musical so I loved that twist. ALSO also: they do a really good job portraying "the walk" with a static stage, which is way harder.

I’m actually blown alway from the talent! Everyone in this is so insanely good! The ensemble vocals and dancing gave me physical chills!!! Hermès had such an amazing stage presence and talked so confidently he was a wonderful narrator! Eurydice and Orpheus have absolutely beautiful voices and have great chemistry on stage AND THE THREE FATES! They have no joke some of the nicest voices I’ve heard! Especially considering they’re all kids I’m amazed! Great job everyone!!!!

Wow wow wow ! HERMES ! I just had to say ! He is incredible ! Future Broadway Hermes ! Unbelievable !! I’ve been fortunate to have seen Hadestown on B’way 3xs ( all 3 with Andre as Hermes, who of course was absolutely stellar!) And twice on tour. The Artist who played Hermes on tour ( February 2023. Buffalo, NY ) was STUNNING as well ! Truly gifted. And this young man ? Right up there ! Astonishing ! The entire cast here is amazing !! Tremendous job!

I've stumbled across other highschools doing this, and the quality of one's Hermes completely determines the quality of the song. Playing Hermes is basically a matter of doing an Andre De Shields impression at this point, and somehow that's harder than "AND WE ARE NOT ALONE!"

Not bad you guys :) The only thing I would say is that they could have broken up the Ensemble parts better for the "Show her the way" bcos it seemed very rushed and could've flowed a little better imo. Other than that, great job! Love this musical.

I always get from Amber's Persephone that she's a little distressed that there's a chance they might not make it even though Hades let them go. Like, she's happy he let them go, but she's not sure of him/why there's a caveat. So I get the "YOU let them go" here, even though it's a different take.
