One thing wich i forgot to say, they need to fix the FPS drops i mean i dont have a Gaming PC for like 2k or 3k€/$ but when my FPS drop from like 160 or 200+ to 50fps its sooo bad for the performance normaly it shouldnt be a prob with my specs but the game just have too many Frame Drops wich need to be fixed in someway. I just want a smooth gaming experience

Making dcuo2 on UE4-5 and migrating player accounts & progress would be an absolute money printing machine. Big investment up front but they would definitely see a profit and then some after time

This would be the opposite of a money printing machine, MMOs do best on launch people like the race, if you ported accounts you'd have a happy player base from the old game and alienate every other player

The only thing holding this game back is it's outdated UI and graphics. The combat will be fine with some new animations and visuals. The core gameplay is great. It just needs a serious graphics overhaul and it will easily overtake most MMO's imo. DCUO is the best MMO on the market. It's the most well rounded, user-friendly game. You can either GRIND to have BiS everything. Or you can just kind of chill and play the events if you only have a little time. The game looking so dated turns many people away, plus those of us who have been playing for 11+ years and the game by in large has remained looking the same minus the 60 FPS update on console. A 4K version with Lumen lighting would be insane. Imagine DC running on UE5.1 looking like Fortnite Chapter 4. Hands down the absolute best MMO on the market.

Batman arkham knight is unreal engine 3. The game would look exactly the same except lighting & shadows etc would be better. What you people are asking for a not a revamp but a new game

A new DCUO would be awesome, I'd be happy to start a new if it means Central City, Star City, Gotham City, Metropolis and more were full-fledged out zones with missions, a larger map with more to do. So many great stories in the DCU to use too!

Unfortunately the devs probably already look at those problems and the reason they never fixed them is that it is not possible or does not worth it. At the end of the day - it is what it is.

I mean Arkham Knight was on UE3 and that game still looks phenomenal. I know that wasn’t an MMO but UE3 has some pretty wild potential in the hands of developers.

I remember that battle event on the water they took away, I remember when the ships were lower to the map and you can fly on it, or a speeder would somehow find away to get that high, then I knew I did, they if they use UE5. That would be amazing. But at this point, for more money, why not re write? Or make DCUO2

Dcuo overall as a game has so many issues. There are countless QoL things that NEED fixing and the devs ignore most of them. Then there is the blatant balance issues plus the p2w crap with artifacts and allies. Content design is lazy and recycles everything. Then there is the graphics. The #1 problem is the devs have ignored so many problems over the years that now they have piled up and they claim they could not possibly fix it all, hell can't even fix half of it. Personally I see this as laziness. Players have directly told them about countless problems and our "great" community manager ignores most of it. Instead he's worried about banning people on the forums for saying something he disagrees with. This kinda nonsense is why dcuo is the way it is. I don't believe fixing graphics issues will bring in new players. Many decisions the devs have made over the years have driven so many players away. I used to have an enormous friends list and very active league of about 50 people. For 5 years people slowly quit the game. The capsules and p2w with the artifacts drove many away. And in the last 2-3 years it's the community. It's full of rude idiot people, scammers, and speed hackers. I've been saying it for years now, when a game goes p2w this is what happens, most of the decent people/players leave and what's left is the garbage people. That is exactly what dcuo is in 2022/2023. Btw I love that still show at the end of the video. The one with the GL logo and your character. It looks awesome 👍

I take the game for what it is. For today's standards, it's a classic game with graphics that they can only push so far to get close or fit today's standards by doing massive improvising on textures and coding. I would sooner them invest in a 2nd massive open world game with today's technology, than to push for graphical updates, but that's my two cents. I also fully understand and support people that either want this current game to look better or keep it the way it is and to focus on new content, so I hear ya guys too. Like every game, DCUO ain't perfect, far from it even. There's even old janky stuff that still never got fixed since I played the game on release, but maybe that's its charm today now. Very janky charm.

I enjoyed this game. I played since launch. Grinded met new people who were good. Had a league and merged with another and felt accomplished. I quit the game around 2014 and came back for one year in 2021-2022. I managed to get back on to current gameplay and had fun. But the graphics and gameplay is too outdated.

Yeah thats true, I Like how U dont ever do Things Like ppl Think that they can do DC graphics Like in GoW or so. ppl need to understand grafics in an mmo are Just Not as easy as they think bcs of the Open world system U will have so crazy lags but i agree to all your Points

Graphics has nothing to do with lags btw, Internet speed does. Graphics are processed locally on your local machine. Have you tried Black Desert Online not on crappy PS5 but on nice rigged desktop? It's unbelievable and I don't see lags. I tried BDO on PS5 with all settings maxed out and it was meh even that make DCUO looks like playing PlayStation1 game.

If they're going to overhaul the games graphics to the point where they need to start from nothing. I would rather them make a new game that is more modernised/streamlined. I say that because the graphics are not the only dated part of this game. For example remove dated stuff like gear and gen mods. Instead add an end-game progression system like paragon from Diablo or Champion Points from ESO for example. Give me gear set bonuses instead of generic stat based gear. Make a cleaner U.I. DCUO is the game I want to love but there are too much archaic systems and P2W.

Couldn't agree more. An updated version of this game (UE4 or 5) but replace dc heroes/villains with marvel heroes/villains. All the styles are inspired by marvel characters. Keep everything else the same combat wise and with instances. This would've been the smart move at the MCU's popularity height. The potential for moneymaking would've been insane. They missed their chance though as the MCU is on the decline now.

@@roboninja3194 Do you have any logic behind your comment? They missed their mark? This game came out when the newest Marvel movie was Iron Man 2. Aka missing 20+ films in the MCU series and at the time, the best super hero movie BY FAR was The Dark Knight. Infact it still beats out 99% of marvel movies, actually ALL movies,as its ranked 3 of all time on IMDB through viewer ratings...... Not to mention, Marvel is very child-like and it has no dark or deep tone to it aside from a few characters and even then, they make them look weird and friendly. Hence why the Marvel version failed and looks horrible too. You're a fanboy of the Avengers movie and thats the only reason you are voicing an opinion.

Maybe Devs don't have to upgrade the full game, just make it more GPU friendly, for example, i have a Quadro k600, and old card for today standars, and only using the program configuration i can radically improve the textures, the speed of the game and the jagged issues, but i can't do anything for the shadows, why? because the shadows aren't GPU generated, but CPU Generated, so depending on your CPU and your Windows version, the shadows can slow down your game, but even crash it. On a personal note, graphics don't bother me that much, my issues are on game play, mainly with the awful targetting system and obstacles detection, i think everybody has experienced tha madening of trriying to atack an enemy but being unable because there are an small debris in fron of him, or that you are targetting a near enemy and the system decides to target an enemy who is far far away.

Graphics never bother me, but what I really want them to update are the animations, mainly the combat one, I never understood how when it was released there were more combat animations that match the weapon with the power, but now they all have the same animation. The animations really get worse over the years and if you compare Batman dodging Brother Eye in the Batcave instances and Nightwing fighting Deathstroke in the Titans episode, it's obvious how the animations have suffered a decline.

I'm satisfied with these graphics, but one improvement I would like. one thing that makes me dissatisfied is the lack of players on the Xbox server, yes, I would like more players. if you open a discussion on the forums for graphics improvement you have my vote there

Just to give people an understanding of the bs. Unreal Engine 3 being upgraded in dcuo bcus its old wouldn’t change a thing… Batman Arkham Knight runs on unreal engine 3. Them putting on another engine wouldnt make the game look incredible due to the art style. It would just look less rough.

Ahhhh, there's the biggest content upgrade in the games history and a massive graphics overhaul coming alongside the launch of DCO to Series X and PS5 at the end of 2023. The big question is, what does this exactly entail? Years ago, porting UE3 to UE4 was hard work, but now there's entire tools that have been created literally to import assets from .upks (UE3 assets) to .uassets (UE4 assets) which make it a lot quicker to do. You also get a much more robust tool set in UE4, and porting UE4 to UE5 is something Epic intentionally made much, much easier for other versions. I'm not expecting them to make it UE5. But I wouldn't be surprised if they made the effort to get it to UE4 at least, with polished assets. PLUS, these days there are tools (for example, from nVidia) that allow you to use AI to upscale textures and in some cases even models by adding dynamic tessellation. If the team uses the right tools, it's definitely possible. But we'll have to wait and see.
