I don't think the problems is only EoG but the way of artifact system was built. It's kinda disgusting that for you to actually be a decent player you have to have good artifacts on your role when those are revolving on a clearly pay to win system.

You don't need them but they do help. I've seen tanks and healers with lvl 80 arts tank and heal TSWE perfectly fine. Mind you they did have over 400sp. I look at It as arts are the equalizer for those that have low sp. I've also seen players with 200 arts but they can't tank or heal a raid. plus you don't have to pay for arts you pay to rank them up faster. So not necessarily pay to win.

@@Shadow497 it's a grinding long system build with a pay window, that insentivise people to spend money on them, I'm sure no one wants to wait 3 months to have 1 artifact max leveled. Plus yes you don't need them to clear content, that's not what I said. Im talking about to be decent or above, to compete to be a better tank or DPS it's actually impossible to be better if they have 200 artifacts and you don't. The game was build before to favour skill points (aka time spend and grinding the game) and skilled players that knew how to perfectly play the game. The moment they have loot box that have feats attached and artifacts/new side kicks with pay windows it only makes the game more pay to win. They been testing the waters for long time too see how much they could milk the players, replay badges first, after that nerf and buffs to get people to swap powers, after that loot box that have feat attached, artifacts that are an actually gameplay changer that will make your caracter better than others with pay windows. It's actually sad how they been destroying the game slowly imo, obviously everyone have their opinions but I can't stand how the game is and how the player base keep getting fed with spoons full of shit

@@SorcGaming you should see all the people I've out DPS or out tanked with my 160 arts. The only benefit you get for paying for arts is getting them leveled up faster. Regardless how strong the art is if you aren't skilled you can be beaten by someone with less sp or lower arts. It sometimes even comes down to the power set.

@@SorcGaming I have videos of myself out tanking where tanks with 200 arts have failed as we'll as I have videos of me out dpsing players with 200 arts against my 160s. So when you say people don't wait to rank up arts that's their choice. All my arts I've never spent a dime and I have them all at a decent level. You can get a few arts to 160 or even 200 if you know how to Play the game. And now they've made it easier you can literally get an art to 160 for free if you're a member.

i didn’t have Solar Amp for a long time because I felt like “why do I need some stupid iconic power to be good”. “Why can’t the abilities in my power set be just as strong” I thought and I still think that everyone doing that same blue beam is so boring to see when we all have such unique power sets with abilities we don’t use just because they suck. I do have it now because I was tired of seeing myself among the lowest damage. Why can’t I use the loadout I want with arts I want? If the meta is stronger why bother? No one is forced to use the meta you just need to put your foot down about the meta don't let it change your great build that you have fun playing mmo it up find players and friends who are pure role players the meta isn't mandatory to succeed I run the newest elite 8 with zero issues while no one using the eye. If your forced to use meta leave there group those players arent worth your skill and time. The meta is a bandwagon trend that all new players flock to avoiding the learning curve and even experienced players use to exploit a crack in dcuo when you create a unique build as a player you will have more fun and you can achieve the same amount of progress in this game.

Ask dcuo to make all powers hit the same if you want to run whatever. There are some terrible moves that do next to no damage but may look cooler to someone. But that wont happen and you work with what you got.

but eog really isn’t the problem for dps tho , it’s the fact you can even change arts in combat. Dead king scepter can also bolster your damage like crazy if you have it at 200. Strat profs can bolster your damage , and swapping with mercy at 200 can also bolster your dps. you can do a 1 mil crit with just summoning pets.

It’s annoying and idiotic when ppl want to set up lfg groups and boss ppl around and ask for certain arts and certain strategies like all dps’s in one spot spamming eog. To be honest, I don't really think this is that big of a problem. It's probably only a 'problem' in Elite circles, and even then it's a good problem to have, because surely you'll be doing more damage/healing etc in elite content, which is a good thing, right? The majority of the playerbase aren't going to be affected by this, or even *know* about it, because the majority of the playerbase aren't going to have this thing levelled up to 200! Only the sweatiest, most hardcore elitists are going to be invested enough to actually spend the money to level this thing up. The rest of us either won't be using it, or won't be getting the most out of it because it's not maxed out (you only get those 5% buffs at rank 200). Honestly, I think the game has bigger problems right now than one artifact overperforming at its highest rank (lack of devs, lack of content etc)

And an even bigger amount of the community doesn't even run elite. Yes a bigger issue in the game that effects 100% of all Players is the Dev team being Short staffed, content taking a decline in quality, recycling Older content ECT. Yes the community might be excited about SM coming back but the majority of the community doesn't play it. SM has become a filler and the community it so excited about it they fail to see it.

I agree it's not a major issue. And it only effects a small percentage of players like Chill. I've ran elite and regular content and I've used EOG and have seen others use EOG. Do I have an issue with it? No not at all. Does it do a lot of damage? Yes. But that's not a bad thing. It's only bad if you don't like the meta. But it's 100% not needed. Like you said a bigger issue is the content quality and a lack of Dev team. And even when we didn't have Devs leaving back to back we had half ass episodes with 1 raid ECT.

I honestly want a new power…. New ring powers to be exact.. and with the death metal variations of heros and batman with a black lantern ring. Dont really see why this is a problem. The artifact was designed and put out as something that helped you team. I dont want it being changed after i have already paid to upgrade it based on the description. What i think is more toxic then the artifact is the current attitude of dps players. Who care as much about seeing their name high on the leader board as they do finishing the mission. Case and point try to get one of them to switch to healing when the healer goes down.. The game has plenty of content that prevents you from ständign together. If you dont want to use the eog then dont you will not see your name high on the leader board but what does that matter. you are hero and the mission is done. If you really care about toxicity take out the leader board like other games that are much less toxic. Just some thoughts from some one who has played dcuo since the game first game out on console.

I know the best way to solve the problem. Here’s a suggestion, Devs need to make raids where everyone has to spread out. Raids like fgse, is a perfect example. Make all future elite raids where mechanics are based on spreading out. Many players will definitely want refunds if they nerf eog. Just change elite raids? Or make mechanics where players can’t stay in one place for example the hawk man boss in dwfe where players had to keep moving, there fore no eog spam. What you think?

Honestly I don't use EoG on elec dps, and I see people switching multiple artifacts in combat and I still destroy em with my Solar Amp, Trans & Strat card. Never switch artifacts, I'm not tryhard enough for that shit, yet still destroy on damage... Yeah so scrap basically just gives you 25% supercharge back after using any sc, essentially just the dirtiest way ppl get their eog to pop even sooner as if it wasn’t often enough

It doesn’t matter how much supercharge you use, it can be a power that uses 2500 sc or 10000 sc, it’ll still give the Pollux Gaze effect and give the orange circle for 20% of all damage in your vicinity. Dirty combo artefact swapping between the two and having your supercharge come back nearly faster than you can even use it, but that’s the name of the game in dc, whatever gets max damage is all that matters

IMO, I think it's a community fault, EOG might be a bit broken yes not too much but it needs an adjustment but the community is the one that makes it 100% needed. U can find so many ppl that can complete elite Raids with 0 arts not even 120, it might be longer but that doesn't mean u should kick ppl just because they aren't spending £200 on an art to do more dmg and get into elite stuff, I don't really get how killing everything so fast to the point that u don't even do mechanics sometimes is fun, I run with many leagues that focus on doing as much dmg as possible just to not go in so many mechanics phases. No, it’s not the community fault that the game is designed around arts and overall p2w features. You expect anyone to purposely put themselves through a lot more suffering in raids because they Inv a raid full of ppl that’s using non meta or even viable arts? No, any serious player regardless of what game you play will use what’s meta because if you don’t you can’t compete and the devs need to take accountability for making the game what it is today. The problem is that there are far too many ppl like you in this community who doesn’t know who holds responsibility for this game being what it is. As long as the devs continue to focus on capsules and booster bundles, DCUO will never be where it could be because those are the things they feel are most important for the game. This is coming straight from the devs btw. When they should be focusing on balancing the game and overall content. Not to mention the fact that they are extremely scared to make changes to arts unless they are buffing them. This is due to how expensive they are and it puts them in special position because the community will be pissed if they nerfed their favorite art that cost them $200. These problems are what the devs brought to themselves and to the game overall. Not to mention it’s nearly impossible to lvl art’s completely free unless you have 6+ months of logging in every day just to grind for xp with a booster. In conclusion stop saying the community is the problem and actually place responsibility on where it needs to be.

Go play elite + you don’t even run gems because gem procs kill the adds which will spawn more adds EOG is completely fine, of course if your playing easy raids your going to burn everything anyways, Me as a healer you always make it your priority to group up and stay close to the group , I’m sure forgotten treasures even know this

elite+ is not the norm for content. It is closer to survival mode than actual content. Plus you are only referring to 1st and 2nd bosses in this regard because no one has even reached 3rd or last boss where you will have plenty of opportunities to gem spam because players will be in the same area more often.

We're always tanking Theon and adds on the far right, with the group standing on the far left. If we'd use EoG, the adds wouldnt be affected. The reason you dont run EoG on Swe+ is because its not worth it due to the amount of dps, unless you tac swap it in of course. I wouldnt recommend tac swapping due to the amount of blocking mechanics, so theres that.

that content is a walk in the park because you have regular elite runs with unlimited supercharge for the 4-5 dps in the group. With the extra rally it may not play as much a factor but if everything isn't melting from constant eog procs you have to survive longer and more mechanics will play out.

To be honest, the biggest problem is the LEADRBOARD. It makes players forget they're supposed to work as a team. They continually stress teamwork throughout the game. I know what you mean though. I don't use Eye Of Gemini anyway....and I'm a successful healer.

Those are just healers. I use it on my fire tanks and on my damage earth tanks. When something is as meta as eog is its one of the first arts I level on almost every character I have and I have 30 character I use to farm materials on

I think people have more of an issue with the play style of the artifact rather than the artifact itself so buffing other arts to compete with EOG in a way that could justify alternative non-EOG play styles would probably benefit the game more….providing more diversity in builds, more fun experimenting, and sort of breathe new life into obsolete artifacts. There’s always gonna be artifacts that are meta but it is better for devs to engineer meta(s) and balance than to wait for a meta and nerf it (then repeat). The whole “they’re doing more damage than me” argument just isn’t enough to justify a Nerf for me and does more to serve peoples egos than the game, especially due to the fact that this artifact is available to everyone and it’s your choice to hop into the meta or not. Which brings me to my original point that there needs to be more meta options.

No way they can buff an art to be as strong as EOG. They'd have to add a whole new effect. Only reason EOG is so strong is because it's leaching from other dps. So them buffing other arts will make the other player do more damage but the EOG dps will do more because he'll still be leaching. So I definitely don't think buffing other arts will help. They'd need to put a cool down on EOG or increase the cost of SC.

@@jalentheeshinobi yes they can make a new art equality as strong as EOG but the way EOG works it's the best. You can stand by a player and get there damage added to yours. Only way to beat that would be to have an artifact do something similar to that. Even if an art made you do x2 your damage output you'll see that EOG will steal that damage. Still making it the strongest. but we'll see what the devs do. I personally have no issues with the art.

I know “Elite” leagues that try to run elite + (Critical) content , but don’t use EOG because they consider it “Stealing dmg or Fake Dmg”. Some even say running the 2 cards and Grim it’s better than running EOG because they hit bigger parses on the sparring targets lol. So I don’t think most of the player base gets affected by this, let them fix this Atari looking azz game first then worry about stuff like arts later.

@@everAU2 Trust I was in a couple leagues that thought about EOG this way. I’m not trying to expose nobody, but in most cases where you not running with a selective group of people, you pop EOG and most people run TF out of that circle. That’s why I say this really can’t be considered “DCUO biggest problem” when there’s so many things wrong about this game, and most people don’t even worry about EOG like that. Elitist benefits from it, and Casuals might get butt hurt that a random “Elitist” player beat them for like 10mill in a random elite raid. But the reality is that all those players that run elite plus/Critical and beat it multiple times (not counting swe+ atm) know the benefits of EOG. If you one of those people that hasn’t encountered this then blessings to ya lol.

Aside from all the problems with the mechanics, artifacts and stuff, thw biggest problem that they never fixed is the amount of bugs: unable to cancel queue and requeue without closing and reopening the window and a bunch of annoying stuff. They are too busy pushing out content. It’s sad.

I kind of agree its Op bt i also get the players that would push back. Your proposed change isn't bad to not have it apply to grp. The only thing i would say to that is if you make it an isolated art maybe increase the percentages just a tad to help fight off the back lash they will undoubtedly get no matter wat.i think tht would help it look like a nerf and a buff at the same time...kinda. ammm actually i didn't really know how op this artifact but after seeing people using it and watching videos about it .i kinda get the idea why its so op well first of all it doesn't just cover all roles but on top . it basically gives you free dmg either from ur pets alone or other players ! the down side of this AF .is pepo relay on it so much .cuz i like to do my own dps u know .not just by standing there and do absolutely nothing and still top dmg it doesn't make any sense .....and its not fun well think they should remove the dmg stealing and kinda make it more specific for the player role ...like if u are dps . u get dmg or healer u get healing or even keep theme but reduce the effects for the incorrect role like if i am a dps and i want to heal from EG i will get less healing cuz i am in dps role so i have to switch to healer role so i can get the full effect and so on for every role if u know wat i mean so yah .i think like this its more balanced and less toxic to other dps ....

I have been a discount broker for 10 years now. I don't use Trade Chat to sell anything. The resellers have ruined much of the leveling up portion. Its an embarrassment to see 40 million in game cash for a Bases and League Halls Teleport mod. I take my time but make a Billion in game cash every 5 to 8 weeks. I took your advice and work SP 1 SP per day to reach 600 by June 2023. Too many gamers want to maintain their Billionaire status and people are leaving in droves who don't want to use Mom's credit card for everything pay to play. Inflation matters.

I agree 100% I actually despise using eye of the gemini. Seems players like me who have been playing this game since the beginning are expected to preform at a cheap level, the fact of the matter is sustain builds with survivability and groups with pure role playing tend to enjoy playing without toxic elitist drama. Yeah pure role playing is the best even if it takes longer like pure power troll, the whole purpose is to provide power debuffing is extra! Debuff builds are selfish and never cut it, lantern power trolls can debuff and out power debuff builds 10 times over. With how power hungry healing is it seems people don't get it, damage dealers in troll role queing as a troll only debuffing produce half at most the damage as in dps role and produce close to no power literally bad at both damage and trolling its best the group doesn't continue to lazily use artifact swapping its just totally ridiculous. Every time i get invited to an 8 by a friend and I come in and there is a troll and i look at the stats he's preforming 30% of a dps and 0% troll forcing healers to improvise which decreased to total damage because the power troll is picking up the slack debuff builds are a waste of time buffing the group for 8700 might instead of 10-20mil power is baffling argument; Oh Debuff is better for damage and speed, lol that's your problem if you cant play patient you make mistakes like failing at your job. Other thing pure power trolling for a healer with page orb and purple ray is the intelligent path not forcing the healer to take off orb so the troll can debuff and get groups killed and cry about how bad the healers are its ridiculous pure role playing is always going to be the best even if players group up and play like you said just to complete the most difficult content. Players who continue using artifact swapping are only supporting the change into a dps hybrid game where everyone has half gear and roles don't even matter.

I actually like EoG myself, I think it's a pretty fun artifact to use, on both DPS and Healer. It's definitely on the strong side, but I don't think that in and of itself is worth a nerf. There's still an opportunity cost for using it (on DPS and Healer at least), so I don't think it's completely broken OP. It is extremely noticeable in groups that can stack like 3+ orange circles at once consistently, but outside of that most DPS can still compete. What I do think is an issue is when this one artifact (that was probably intended to be somewhat niche) is required for random LFG runs or certain feats (like Proma's Anguish). I don't like the idea of gatekeeping based on what artifacts people have. Of course I'd prefer to run with Healers that can spam greens, but for most content it's fine as long as they can heal. A portion of the community is toxic for not running with pure Healers, but I don't think that's an issue with EoG itself. It's like running with a power or buff troll - both are viable, and players shouldn't be penalized for choosing one playstyle over the other, but the community just likes one a lot more. I'd rather the devs buff other playstyles then nerf EoG. If healing were actually challenging instead of only having to spam 2 buttons with PHR, then Healers wouldn't have the luxury of running 3 supercharges.

the issue there is we have I think 38+ artifacts so yes, not every player will level that much and certainly not to 200 but if you did and can't use them they are just collecting dust in your inventory unless you want to wait for the 3-4 times a year there is a 2x week to fortify it into another artifact. At least with art swapping you can still find uses out of your past investment into artifacts like dead king or philo stone which aren't good enough arts to equip at all times.

Not a problem on xbox! Sounds like a PC problem, when we run elite we run with burst healers or gem spam either or is fine. Always crying just play the game, most of the time people are separated you're acting as if people stand together and just run now there's a lot of movement especially in elite raids. Usually healers run gem spam not dps

The game is still enjoyable but I kinda wish they would leave it with everything how it used to be way back then the people who are new to the game that didn’t get to experience how it used to be will defend the current state of the game because they never got to experience it when it was at its peak since they’re used to playing it how it is now but you really needed to have skill points to be a very very good player the grind for skill points really reflected in your character and back when pvp was a lot of fun as well
