I really dislike the iconic powers. It really takes away from the powersets. It's sad to see sonic cry in a HL loadout. Sonic Cry isn't even close HL power. Same goes for venom boast, it doesn't go with the powers. I'd like to see only the original powers be used.

Aye that’s me lol & nice vid Chill I feel the same about HL it’s not the same anymore it’s not as fast as it used to be. Jump canceling was the way to go for HL Dps, I used to watch Kaiser playing on PC and just kept practicing to get near as fast as him with the PS4

You're so right when you say hard light was more fun(or whatever you said something like that) at start of revamp. I was hard light at start and comboing was so fun but I had to switch to heal because needed more healers in league and then I went to tank and since then all I see now is boring loadouts where people don't even combo with hard light. Something that would be good was if combos didnt take any power or at least less power because with the loadouts I used to use this was something that was really annoying.(Anyway that was something that was an issue before artifacts and I havent been hard light for a while so I have no idea how power is with it now since new artifacts and other factors. Anyways great vid as usual!

Actually he was talking about the time before gu36 in 2014 that pretty much ruined the combat in this game and put it to the state it is today. Since that point combat went casual, powersets are dumb and boring and rotations are braindead easy to execute. HL was a good representation of oldschool skilled play.

Mr. Raccoon he also said hard light was more fun at beginning of revamp which was what I was trying to point at. Random nerfs/buffs happening made it to what it is now which is boring with minimal combos usually.

Great vid man. I've decided to come back after years of not playing on Playstation. I was one of the best HL players on the villains side before it was ruined. Some of the old clanmates told me to come back and try stuff out. This vid helps a lot with all the changes. One more thing, weapon recommendations. Just use what I like or is there a certain one that will benefit HL more?

Orphan Fromdabloc for single target rifle does more damage but the taps split pretty bad on multiple targets so I just use 1 handed or shield so you can lunge to the next set of adds quicker for your melee rotations

Michael Thomas Light range is pretty much only 1 option it’s just spamming ram-fan so ram power fan construct fan power repeat. Have chompers or light weight strike for the range pi set up and then grasping hand on the loadout for any single target adds that may be left

I've been referencing this video a lot this weekend with the cr210 boost to power level my dusty HL alt. Thank you for this. Question, on a melee loadout with the Eye of the Gemini artifact out, would you be better off running a super like Acrobatics 25% super with the head mod and trying to keep the eye of the gemini constantly up? What do you think about Entrap (PI apply)? It hits harder than Lightweight (you can't trap your enemies as DPS), sometimes i see it crits for more than 10k, looks good.

Entrap is certainly an option to use, sometimes I don't like the encasement cc effect because in some cases I won't be able to dps because of no encasement breaker. I certainly saw some larger numbers from it but its impossible to replicate it on a parser for testing because of the encasement. I just settled on the supercharge generator like I did with munitions over flack cannon.

electric is still really good, it suffers a little bit in single target damage but it can still do well with it.

I did try that rotation or one very similar it was chompers-ram>snaptrap/handclap>x2>GH-GH>gh pull then repeat which im pretty sure is what you said there for single target as it was suggested to me on another video I did and it was still good I just couldn't get it to parse as high as the one I showed. It was still within like 1-2k per sec of it so its not a bad rotation by any means.

Hey obsidian, I just came back after a year break. I never lost any dps battles when I was playing consistently, but much has changed since end of 2015/2016. Plus my gear is lacking, I’m only 200 cr. honestly if you are just coming back and looking to gear up again you should prob go full prec and use the weapon mastery combos. Because you won't have the annoyance of switching from full might. Most powersets doesn't matter which are all great with full prec, gadgets, rage and water stand out a bit more going full prec. If you want to stay full might rage is still great if you only melee, if you want to do elite raids munitions will be good etc

Tough to say because it depends on what raid you are really running, if you can melee the entire time than rage most likely will win out but there are alot of raids especially elite where you can't melee and rage range and its range single target aren't amazing so if there is any sort of range most likely gadgets would win out

sherrod mayberry it’s not a full range debuff, so if you use it and whips doesn’t hit the target you still get the debuff but you get 0 dmg and more importantly 0 supercharge regen from using it. Unless you can be close to the adds always which isn’t realistic then whips isn’t good to use

The first part of the guide with the aoe rotation its the 2015 FOS Survival Mode Platinum Chest and the single target 2nd part of guide style is the 2016 Trigon Survival Mode Variant Chest Style

YourStepDadd because with the critical inspiration head mod it turns it into 2% increase on your crit damages. HL barely uses 6 powers and repeats rotations a lot so there is easily space available for inspiration and strafing run isn’t that great of a SC so no real need to run the supercharged head mods

Should I switch from Electricity to Light?

Light does well at melee and single target and with a new dlc coming in a few weeks light may not do well in the beginning until you start to get better gear. If you aren't at end game level and that doesn't apply to you then Light is a more fun powerset to use as electricity is really just pressing buttons in the same order, light is more involved but Electric is easier to dps with.

I've Been Electric since 2016, so you could say that i'm tired of it. I'm sitting at 243 and 185sp and willing to make the jump to either Light or Rage. The only things holding me back is the fear of losing the edge on DPS and the prospect of having to level up the troll augments after working so hard for my healer augments. Any suggestion?

no, these rotations will still do competitive damage, there are a few rotations that do more but overall you'll still be doing great dmg with them compared to now.

I kinda need an updated version. At least the control side. I don't know what artifacts to use, why you went hybrid instead of superpowered, and any loadout differences for lower stat point players. Movement masterys? Weapon mastery? HELP! 😭 Earns recommended you as a good troll to watch too so I'm here but I don't see anything updated 💔

Everything is updated here in terms of rotation and spec. I have separate videos on the best artifacts for controller and hybrid vs superpowered spec. In terms of artifacts you should work on the Scrap of the Soul Cloak first, then Parasite Power Harness second and Amulet of Rao third. The personal power regen is practically the same for hybrid vs superpowered but with hybrid you get the extra stat bonus which will be more beneficial to you than anything the superpowered spec grants. The only situation where you would use superpowered is if you don't want to consistantly use the handblaster combos between each power use, so if you want a bit more of a relaxed approach or don't like using handblasters as a weapon than you would want to use superpower over hybrid. Loadouts and rotations don't change for lower stat players, if you don't have the power to maintain the rotation in the video just drop a debuff, just use the supercharge generator and the defense debuff and leave off the heal. If you still can't maintain that rotation then don't clip the debuffs with recharge. In terms of skill points if you don't have alot than don't even worry about taking any of the movement mastery points because they don't scale well at all anymore and aren't necessary unless you have the extra sp to spec into them. If you have less than 250sp put like 60% into vit and 40% of your sp into power because at that point your gear and sp is so low if you take all power you won't be able to give much because of the lower vit. Once you get like 300+ and start to level your artifacts you can do 80% into power and 20% into vit but if you are starting out with no artifacts or gear than put more into vit etc.

For heat vision wait for a few seconds then jump cancel it, should be enough time to get the 3rd big tick. If you hold it too long its less overall dmg because you can go back into your HL combos

Nice :) I never needed to learn healing back in the day I always had players like Mitchel from Odyssey and Elusian so I just stayed the other 3 roles. Which is why you haven't seen a full healer guide from me as I couldn't make it to the standards that I set for myself with my other guides as I would want to learn everything about the powersets and the tricks to healing etc so i've just left it up to others.

Stupid amounts I meant as low healing, you'll get like 500 or 600 health back and when you 40,000+ health it's not even worth it. Even the hand mod for tanks that gives health back when using a shield is super low numbers. DCUO just hasn't scaled alot of mods for a long time.

Oh this kills me when people say or do this crap! SHOW your load out that supposedly outshines these loadouts. Make a video, show your parses, facts etc. Don't just say could be better as if you know for a fact that you have a better load out. Chainsaw, claw, and lightweight are by far the hardest hitting powers in HL powerset as of now. Entrap is good against boss, but not adds as it entrap them and you lose damage. even though at base, it is the hardest hitting PI. Minigun does horrible single target damage. Hand clap is great single target, but drains power very fast and you typically only get the crit out of the 3rd clap. Think about it, 3 claps to get a possible 25k-30k crit and 3.5-4 seconds to do it. Yet, you hit chainsaw you can get 12-14k crit the first 4 hits and 25-30k on the 5th. Whipthrash is fast and ur looking to possibly get the high crit out of inspiration clipped in.

Just use handclap on single boss, multiple adds, use chompers and spam ram into fan. So keep ram and handclap into your loadout, inspiration also does nothing to your power damage! Useless!
