DDA - New Player Experience is Changing! What is Your Starting Deck?

Warden, Monk, Huntress, Series EV, Summoner, Apprentice. You need monk auras, huntress gas, and series ev reflects (and buff beams). Warden is the best all arounder imo as all the towers are good without runes. Apprentice towers are really good with DST and Lightning towers. Summoner would be last as spiders are always helpful for ogres and 2 pets will be useful later on. Typing this before watching and hopefully we have something similar!

I'm probably not the average type of player here. I'd leave out the Warden and the Huntress and DPS on the Rouge. He's too fun to leave out! With the current stage of the game, it's easy to get Fusion armor. That means that the monk slow aura will weaken enemies. There's another defense when fused that weakens enemies, too. The spider?? It's been a month or two since I played last so, I forget. But, those are my 6 starters. 1-2 Proton Beams 1-2 spiders 1 squire wall 1 slow aura This is what I used and works on most maps. Especially once you start getting fused armors.

I would use your 6 except switching out the Summoner for the Squire. Not starting off with the OG 4 just isn't right.

For me the 3 expendable characters to a new player are Rogue, Summoner, and Squire. I'd go with the other 5 heroes in my deck and it would be a toss up on the 3 mentioned as #6. I would probably end up going with the Rogue at #6.

I know this isn't dungeon defenders 2, but still wanted to thank you! Came back a week ago, and with your series going from campaign to chaos 8, I was actually able to progress in the game! I played 2 years ago, and honestly had no idea about gear score or combos like earth+posion. Was able to go from 900 GS, to now 9k. The unfortunate part is that I got burnt out, and spent a little money just going from C7 to C8, specifically getting that little 700-800 gs I was missing. Problem I'm having now is that C8 completely ruined the fun for me, I don't pass the damage check for those siege rollers, they destroy all my towers. I had some success with 3 map completions, but its not always a guaranteed win. Though I did go from 8.2k gs to 9k. Was really hoping to do my first ancient power, but the grind just seems insane. I can't even imagine going from 9k to 10k. Might pick the game back up when I feel motivated or don't get frustrated or discouraged at C8 lol. Thank you nonetheless! Very useful series. I would love to use the other heroes, but I simply don't know what combo is good. All I'm using is your EV2 posion+earth combo, plus poison tower+mage earth tower in C8. Maybe if I knew other good heroes and their towers, I would have more fun and variety. There are just so many towers and options!

every damaging defense is basically the same. Get Power, range and rate on all of your gear with % Damage and Power passives, then only upgrade Power. % Damage and Rate or Power and Rate are good second rate passives.

I would pick similar to you but I would of kept the squire instead of the apprentice. I could see leaving out summoner of the first 6 i level because I only find it impressive when youve farmed two good pets and have a couple runes so I could possibly see switching it out of the initial 6 to level perhaps another squire, warden or even monk.

This game is currently 18 dollars on PSN store. Is this game worth that price tag on PS5? I can't find any most recent videos on the PS5 version of it. So i am sort of in the middle if i should get it or not I am going to end up being solo on it any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated i played both 1 and 2 and i enjoyed both.

IMO it is easily worth that. At a minimum you will get say 200 hours of play out of it. On the high side thousands. For $18 you can't complain about that!

Hard mode is way too easy. They need to make easy-medium-hard mode much harder to make a fun start. My deck would start out with everything but the rogue and summoner. Pets suck butt until end game that’s why I say leave out summoner.

Yeah ive tried playing mode above hard when i started, but gear level shot up to like level 45 and 60 so couldnt even use the drops :/

Imo I think progressions is super easy. My 6 are squire, app,huntress, monk, ev, and summoner
