There is a shard bonus after doing 4 consecutive maps. At the end of the round if you press replay/continue on the map (do not go to town) after 4 maps you will start getting extra shards at the end of the maps as long as you continue farming. Really handy if you are looking for shards in specific levels.

So if I’m in need of destruction shards I can do this in C1? I’ve noticed this when playing but not sure if it’s like C1 - Only bonus C1 shards or does it just drop randomly and not to what chaos you’re in? If that made sense

@@DeIBoyy so you will get 2 shards per map (without win streak), 1 shard from thw chaos tier you are playing and one from a random lower chaos tier. As for the win streak when it applies upu will start getting 2 shards from the chaos tier you are playing + the random one instead of getting just 1 and a random.

Great stuff!! The other thing to mention is that new players need to follow the quest lines to gaurantee 1 destruction, 1 deadly strikes and 1 def rate, 1 burning strikes shards. Also, I'd add boosted grasp in c3 is also really good as it allows enem6to reveive more dmg in the flame aura due to enemies being slowed down. Not required, but it can really make a big difference, especially early game.

First thing I did was all the inventory space, then I got the mercenary (the archers and spiders carried through early game) then ev2 I found the reflect beam with even only random shards helped with pushing up to end tier I also still only have guilded destruction it’s a long process and newer players I think wouldn’t want that grind right away

Splosion mods are S+ from early to early end-game, the same goes for some specific defense mods, like the tesla tower mod.

Both heroes are really good. Just go with whichever looks more fun to you. As for defense rate question: Yes, defense rate can be used on any defense that's not a wall and it will help. Some walls can even benefit from def rate.

This is helpful! I’ll be sure to spend my medals on these shards after I get the heroes I wanna play with. I can at least grind their chaos level while waiting for that. :D

That's right boys, shards will get you anywhere! And perhaps the wording was a little confusing for some. Defense rate mods only make the atk rate of a tower when they give +40% atk rate (only happens when the mod it at chaos 8 level and it is a 10/10 mod). Defense rate shards when not guilded they will give around 35% atk rate, meaning that you will not get to "max atk rate" untill you guild it (guilded it gets you 41% atk rate). Also, unless you are in endgame: All heroes work! Any of them, if you're buying one you can get the one you like the most!

@@JMACK.THROW30 there is, but it's not even close to the mod or shard, there is another shard that you can equip on your hero weapon slot, the shard is called "Radiant Rate" it's a chaos 10 shard, unguilded is around 10% rate increase to nearby towers (so you have to be standing close to the tower you want to increse the rate of), guilded will give you around 15% atk rate increase. So the best is to use a defense rate shard from chaos 4, and defense rate mod you won't have the need until you want to do either chaos 9 or chaos 10 AFK. If you play actively on your heroes you most likely won't need it, but your hero dmg output has to be decent.

I almost forgot as well, another chaos 10 shard "all for one" gives: power, range and rate to the tower, but you need to not build more than one tower.

​@@JMACK.THROW30Juicebags mentioned it briefly in his video, ascension. Your 1st 20 points into the middle category should always go to defense speed. Between that and the gilded def rate shard will get you close to the def rate cap on many/most (all?) Defenses.

Hey, super helpful video! I was wondering how the free2play experience is for players who choose to never spend money, especially when it comes to things like the inventory you mentioned. Can I still have a fullfilling experience or will I feel absolutely pressured into spending money to have proper fun?

Depends on your long term goal really. If you decide you want to really grind and play through to the very end game then not having any inventory space will make for a "not fun" experience. Even without pushing all the way to end game inventory space can still be quite tedious. Just think about Shard gilding alone. Say you have 4 shards you want to gild. That means you need to collect 11 total of each of those shards. Assuming 1 is equipped on a hero that means each individual shard will eat up 10 inventory spaces before you can gild it, or 40 total spaces in that 4 shard scenario. If you just want to log a couple hundred hours and not really pursue the very late game then it will be tedious and annoying, but is possible with $0 spent.

Cries in only having the Witch built properly… can pretty much clear Chaos 6-7 without any towers for clear, only slight help from knocking assassins off… but it’s 100% active playing. No tower defence… Would really need help on where to start the grind in order build a proper character for tower defence. (Been debating the clouds of the Dryad and the world tree and just spam that)
