This is going to be a cool build. I'm excited to see it. In high school, (1991-92), I had a 63 Chevy II. It was a brown and white ,4 door, inline 6, and I was imbarrassed. Now, I would love to have one like it. That thing was perfect. It was a band new old car.

Glass goes in well with chainsaw starter rope. Ah, you got it anyway! Too bad about transmission, but there is a pile of them hiding in the corner. Day 3 in Victoria, man it’s hot!!

You had MUCH better luck with that glass than we did. MY friends and I broke my original windshield going into my 62 C10. Then a replacement arrived broken in shipping, then today the glass guys cracked the 3rd one...4th one arrives Tuesday. Car is going to fly thru inspection!...Well, maybe push thru, but it'll do it either way.

Old Meck-A-Nick suggestion for your trans issue. .. Dot 3 Brake Fluid ( About 1 pint. .. Add it to the trans and start it up. .. Let it idle to circulate and then run it in reverse. .. After about 30 seconds, try low gear then drive. .. The brake fluid swells the seals and clutch material, also cleans the various fluid passages. .. I did this trick on my old race car ( '55 Chevy B/G ) with a manual shift T-350, after sitting for about 15 years. ... YUP, it worked and I drove it without issue for 4 years before I sold it. .. Good Luck.

We use the stuff when we take tires off called Murphy's soap not the same stuff to use on the floor in your house comes in a like a one-gallon bucket and kind of like a gel that stuff would work phenomenal for putting windshields in as well but soapy water seems to probably be the best gets pretty slick we even take semi tires off with soap and water

I've installed quite a few windows of that type using soapy water and heavy weed eater string. Did most of them by myself. I never installed the chrome trim. Most of them were in old pickups and air cooled VWs. A heat gun can help soften the rubber. The car does look a lot better. Heater? None of my old cars ever had a heater, including the two I still have. This is Phoenix, AZ. It's 112F here. Is that a Powerglide? My former '63 Nova SS with a straight six had a floor shifted Powerglide. So you are going to leave it in the U.S.? How close are you to the U.S. border?

I'M SOOO EXCITED FOR DANI TO CRUISE IN HER LITTLE SHOEBOX CHEVY II, SO AWESOME 👍 You'll be slamming gears in no time! Straight axled Shoebox Chevy II look so incredibly awesome, that I have no words. Plus, in drag racing, the little shoebox destroys the 68-72 Nova in competition. It's physics, the Shoebox is slimmer, classier, streamlined, and of course MUCH LIGHTER THAN THE ELEPHANT 🐘 68-72! I love all novas but the 1962-67 is by far superior! Thanks.
