I rented a chevy U-Haul box van with 10' box that was brand new a couple years ago and it had the new GM 6.6 gas engine L8T I think it is and wow that truck engine had some nuts, that van was giggly quick, every time I'd flatten it my son and I would start flat out laughing sayn how the hell look at the size of this thing we both really impressed, then the we should LS swap this van n keep this 400 jokes started. That van would absolutely smoke any typical 5.3 powered 4wd GM pickup. That L8T is actually really tame at 400hp they have a lot of potential they make crazy TQ down low compared to the GM 6.2 truck engine. Texas speed has some 7.0 engines based on the 6.6L l8t. Wow way off topic.

I doubt you'll read this. But if you notch out the side of the u-joint cup, and change it to a bolt to the dash with a single nylock you would be able to just kick the rod out the side of the cup if you needed to get off the gas in a hurry. Heck at that you could setup another little catch with a magnet or something that would keep it out of the way when you don't want it and you wouldn't have to adjust it in and out as much for when you do want to engage that "cruise control". Either way, I agree, it's a terrible idea and I fully support it! 🍻cheers

Cruise control in the 70s was a cut to length hockey stick between the seat and the gas pedal that you can kick out of the way if you need to.. you're welcome😂
