Listen, we joke around a lot, and sometimes we don't follow every safety rule to a T- but there are some things we just DON'T mess around with. So keep yourself and your family safe in the shop and from the shop! We were so glad to hear that no one was hurt in Nitro Rednecks video- but it serves as a good reminder to have some basic safety equipment around.

In 1970 my neighbour sold his super clean 1965 Impala SS and bought a loaded Monte Carlo. I was in love with that car. It was stunning with its dark green exterior and tan interior. The horseshoe shifter and the bucket seats were absolutely beautiful. Very underrated car that Joe Average can buy and drive the wheels off of it.

I keep a fire extinguisher in each corner of the shop. No need to think about where to go when there's an emergency, get to the closest corner and you got fire juice. Stay safe out there folks.

Guys fire is no joke. Ive been a 1st responder for ever and it takes just a few seconds to burn. Some are quick and others may smolder awhile. Get those things mounted waist high and have them in different places. And dont pile stuff in front of them. Straight easy access. People panic and dont think straight. You block it you may not get to it or trip over something. And # 1, know how to use them. Does no good to have it if you dont know how to use it. Same with a good 1st aid kit.put them by your fire fighting gear, a safety station per say. And if you use it replace it. Does no good grabbing a used up extinguisher. Same for your home. Same with the house. Dont care if the old man/woman says its not the right color, it dont look right there. If it saves a life home or pets its worth every penny. I will get off my soap box now. Good advise guys.

When it comes to automotive stuff, if it is burning for real, it's gonna take 3-4 times the fire extinguisher you'd think it would to put the damn thing out.. They don't generally work as well as you might think from watching TV shows, lol. We had a trailer wheel bearing/tire fire a few years ago...I carried a little halon extinguisher in the truck, which didn't do much of anything..luckily this happened in front of (someone else's) well equipped shop..it took four big 20lb dry chemical extinguishers and a forklift to get it put out. Similar incident when I was a kid working in a junkyard...fella was in the wheel well cutting with an oxy/acetylene torch, and a spark landed on the hvac box on the firewall..by the time he was aware, the whole interior was burning (square body Suburban) and it became something requiring a visit from guys like Eric VERY quickly.

Good advice Dan and Dani. Another thing that I would suggest is, when you're welding, keep a spray bottle filled with water within arm's reach. I use one to put out small fires that occur from burning insulation or undercoating.

I had one of those pellet barbeque grills go crazy and catch fire. Cleaned it constantly, did all the right things but it went. 5 foot flame shooting out of it. Luckily it was far from the house and we did have a fire extinguisher close and handy. Goes to show you can be cautious and do all the right things and stuff still happens. I need to get more fire extinguishers. Have a couple in the garage and some inside the house, but could still use a few more.

That Monte Carlo is Cool 😎👍 I like it just fine. Richard Rollins loses big money sometimes at these auctions. You are so real. You buy rough stuff and polish it up and make it a real good 30 footer. You enjoy driving old classic cars, and this allows you to do what you love. Keep up the good work and let us live vicariously through you.

I had my 1984 grand prix with a brand new expensive drive train, and I had them install new shocks and coils, and when it was up on the lift, the employee was using a torch and the rubber stopper flew on top of my brand new engine and started on fire and remember it was at max height on a lift and my car and half there shop was a total lose, so even the so called professional shops have accidents. Great video to help people 👍 👏 😀 👌

Dan, I went to Barrett Jackson a few times over the years. The first thing that shocked me 10 years ago was a tri-five that sold for around 30k usd back then, was definitely not put together too fantastically. I spoke with a gentleman selling a gorgeous 57 chevy convertible with hundreds of thousands into it, and it went for a 100 grand. The videos definitely don't tell the story on the driver type stuff. You say your stuff is a hack job, but the cars are honest and you are too. The cars I looked at were hack jobs, trying to be hidden.

When you search for a car you want and find one that's close, you have to Adopt that find. I wanted and searched for a 55 Chevy 2dr post as my 1st hot rod. I ended up with a 59 Chevy shortbox fleetside and hotrodded the heck out of it. Am I still looking for that 55? Of course. But never let the illusive keep you from Adopting and adapting.

I was amazed that the guy didn't grab a shovel and start shoveling snow into the engine fire. That's as close as you will get to a CO2 extinguisher. It is better than water because it will not just run off and because it is cold it will reduce the heat faster to be manageable. Fire needs fuel, oxygen and heat. Get rid of one of them and you don't have fire.

People who say that as the older generation passes, the card from that generation will be worthless, are saying so because of what happened to the cars from the 30s and 40s. However, there is a big difference between the 30s and 40s and let’s say the 50s and 60s. Most cars from the mid 50s into the 60s and 70s can still be used as a car today. They are capable of highway speeds, they’ve got modern inconveniences such as air conditioning, power windows, power steering, so the usability of those vehicles increases tremendously compared to the cars from yesteryear . You also have an issue of parts availability, you’re getting into the age of the small block Chevy. There’s not gonna be a part issue with a small block Chevy. However, you got a Packard straight eight yeah you might have a problem finding the water pump for that. So I don’t believe you will see the same decrease in value that we saw in the past.
