You could do that in the zip-lock bag it comes in so the meat soaks up resting juices in the bag.

@@RunaroundAtNight I agree. Just pour the juices into the ziplock. This is a great hack. Thanks Mum !

Or dump the juices in the new bag since the original bags won’t store the chicken in an airtight container

this is great method if you like tiny bones and joint material mixed up in your meat. Do it by hand.. it barely takes any longer and you pick and choose what gets into your shredded pile

Wow all you have to do is open the bag and sift through the meat with clean hands until you pull out all the pieces that you don’t want in there. Takes less time and less waste. I’ve literally pulled off this method over 10 times without a problem. Meat is supposed to be warm first.

Does anyone know if the roasted chicken is warm or chilled when put in the bag???
@mumknowsbestaus

I normally use a warm chicken, but it would probably work fine chilled as well.

Tried today and TBH was easier just to shred a chicken (warm) without the bag. I found I still needed to pick the bones clean after removing from the bag. So my hands ended up just as greasy. And I think it's quicker out of the bag.
@crispysend2028
@crispysend2028 Ай бұрын
Yes chicken must be warm. You waste more without a bag and it’s not cleaner or quicker to get chicken all over the countertop. If you had to pick chicken off bones then you didn’t work the meat long enough.

I have always manually de-boned because I LOATHE dark meat. Does this method blend dark and white meat or should I do it in sections? I can tell when either type of meat is de-boned.

Use a warm chicken and separate whatever you don’t want out of the bag after you successfully massage all the meat from the carcass. I usually don’t even get that much dark meat and this method saves me from having to waste all the stuff I can’t pull off by hand.
@JoellenKirk-r7e
@JoellenKirk-r7e 9 ай бұрын
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I tried this and ended up with tiny rib bones in the meat! It took me twice as long to hunt for the bones than it would have taken me to debone by hand. NEVER AGAIN plus the meat was coated in the chicken fat that I usually would hand pick out when done the old fashioned way.

All you people in the comments, crying about how you don’t think this method is effective, keep in mind….The chicken must be warm and it really is not that hard to open a bag and give the meat a good few pinches until you don’t feel any bones and cartilage, I’ve never been able to get all the meat off of a chicken until I use this method because I did it correctly. Unless you’re doing it incorrectly, you should have no problem.
