DE error happens for various reasons guys, one of them is due to the door switch shown in the video. There are various components in the control panel (bjt, mosfets, etc) which could have been shorted due to water or moisture. So please check with a good technician, one who knows about automatic washing machine. He will test it and tell you what the problem is. Most cases you don't need to change the panel. So be careful don't waste your money

Have you tried checking the magnet? Thanks for the video. it gives me the idea that the cause is the magnet. The component the you shorted is a reed switch which closes when attracted by a magnet that is located on the cover. I just advice my wife to find it and fortunately she found it on the floor.

Probably I don't have big issue like this, that's a magnet on the lid which near the indicator panel, I just replace a magnet by myself (use the magnet from my daughter toys). Everything resolved. No wiring work and others. Just simply use a magnet place it near the indicator panel, and test to run the machine. If no error code, then just place the magnet to the lid slot. Done.

I have a DE error on a LG WD-8005. The door switch tested ok. Can you please give me some pointers to look for. I have removed the front panel. If you have a circuit diagram for this model it should help. The unit was purchased in Qatar in 2007.

He has shorted the lid sensor with a wire. You can possibly do the same thing with a strong magnet.

Before you pull it apart, check the machine is level, that it’s not overload with clothes, also that the drain plug on the back is clear.
