de Havilland DH.60 Gypsy Moth ZK-ADT is co-owned by Jan White and Jerry Chisum, and is seen here taxying and taking off at Bridge Pa Aerodrome, Hastings, New Zealand.
Jan's father brought the aircraft to New Zealand in 1934 when he left the Royal Air Force, and in recent years Jan has been able to bring it 'back to the family'y purchasing it from the original restorer.
Watch the video and listen to Jan's story.

What a super film. Whilst it is short it shows everything. So pleased it is back in the hands of the original family. It reminds me of a super special catamaran called BLUEFIN and that too has gone back to the Briggs family. These craft/aircraft are unique lol

Was the Gypsy a predecessor to the Tiger, or were they both developed concurrently?

The Gypsy was the Tiger's predecessor. Some of the issues found in the Gypsy (such as it being somewhat difficult to get in and out of the from cockpit) were improved upon in the Tiger when that was developed.

Would have been nice to see more of it flying, four fifths was all taxiing and half the little bit of it flying was behind trees.

Agreed, and we do plan on getting more footage of this aircraft flying. Unfortunately the day this material was shot, we only had the last minute opportunity to shoot what you see here...
