Dear Chewang la, At the outset I must apologize for my delay in responding to your post. It had remained to be uploaded in my mobile which my nephew did it for me. I am not an expert handler of the facilities in the instrument. "Denjong Sili Yangchag" literally means Denjong or Sikkim climatically cool, tranquil, blissful and a place of sublime peace and tranquility. The source of this peace is reposed in "Mapham" lake in Tibet from where the rivers flow down to the ocean taking a long course. Initially the song might have been prepared as a prayer for the long lineage of its ruler like the course of a river, its rule firmer and stronger than the rock."Dorjee Drak" and its eminence and glory as the high as the sky. This is a rough summarised translation of the song and I believe that it might have been prepared as a lyric to praise and please the ruler. In my school days in early fifties I have not heard this song being sung as national anthem. However it might have been in early sixties the first part of the song was approved as the national anthem of Sikkim and we started singing the same in functions which the Chogyal attended. The band of Sikkim guards used to play this anthem beautifully. In the present KZbin video the singers Chewang Dorjee Bhutia and Choki lahmu lepcha have sung all the three parts of the song with an almost perfect tuning.Their voice quality is sound and pronunciation equally good but I thought that the music was a little loud. The song has three parts, root, body and the top or peak. Nevertheless I am happy that Chewang Dorjee Shangdarpa has done a commendable job and he must be congratulated and I hope that he would make efforts to record the other "Zunglus" in their original tunings with soft musical support in video or cassettes and sell them to all our community members in an organised campaign. Such an effort is required to ensure that the tunings are not distorted or plagarised by younger generation after all this is our history and culture.
