Fight would have been the same either way man. Ryan is just too strong and the stylistic matchup is bad for Haney. No matter if Ryan was 140 or 138. He would have still overwhelmed Haney. Ryan was catching Haney by straight offense, while Haney was in defensive mode, and also in the clinch. Haney needs to stay away from fighters with power, speed and the ones who are the same size as him. The weight bully has officially been bullied.

But the rematch had to do more with Duran blowing up to 230 pounds and his manager being stupid enough to make him sign the contract, which Leonard knew about and fully exploited it while being in top shape. Neither Ryan or Devin are at Duran and Ray Leonard level quite yet. Devin hasn't ko'd anyone in several years and they have a history together from the past, which Ryan exploited fully. Duran vs Ray Leonard was a very technical fight unlike Devin vs Ryan, which was sloppy at times. Nobody really expected Ryan to win like this unlike Duran who was always good enough to beat everyone. Ryan has copied and been influenced by Mike Tyson a lot even though he doesn't admit it, especially Tyson during post prison time during 1995 and onwards but Tyson was much more aggressive in his approach and personality by breaking the law and all rules unlike Ryan who has a reckless but more of a calm approach, which again could be a factor due to traumatic stress like cutting weight, personal problems, getting hit, losing to Davis and other stuff he denies while just stating it being an act now.
