These figs were picked and eaten. No time in the refrigerator. This is what drying on the tree looks like vs dehydration in a refrigerator. Ripening on the tree leads to the best concentration and sweetness - you cannot get this in a refrigerator!

That looks delicious, you must love on the western side of Oregon, where that 3% can actually grow figs??? I've been through your state, and most of OR is cold AF!! Most of your state don't bother growing figs?? You must have like that Seattle weather?? Not like the rest of the State??

The weather in the Willamette Valley is perfect for figs in the summer and early fall. Much warmer here than Seattle in that time frame. I worked for a company based in the Seattle area and they always gave me a hard time because it was warmer here.

How does this fig compare to white Madeira ?

They are both awesome and very different. DLR ripens a bit earlier for me in my climate. WM#1 consistently has a strong strawberry component. DLR has a pretty exterior that is a powder blue and green. WM#1 has a green exterior. They are both top tier figs that I love.

@@oregonfigs3314 I’m in zone 6B North NJ & was debating between them , I already bought Raspberry latte, strawberry verte , Napolitan & Battaglia, last summer, only the Napolitan produced so far.

⁠@@hamitfusha710- I would go with DLR as WM #1 is similar to Strawberry Verte.
