If you watched Serie A or Bundesliga you would know that De Lift was not a failure at either club. Most Bayern fans would say he is there best defender and aside from Musiala and Kane he is there most bankable player. De Ligt started 31 league games in 22/23 so he doesn't have a poor injury record.

Everyone is talking out of their arse at this point, very few people actually knows what happened and what's happening, and those who don't, don't follow a logical process to analyse, just do surface level 2+2. People blaming ten Hag for recruiting players he knew, was he doing the same in Ajax? No. Why? What are obvious difference in the 2 scenarios? Ajax had a structure that would find options either within the academy or in the market. Where was that in United? Oh yes, busy not rating players like Haaland for years even even before ten Hag arrived, as Ole mentioned in his interview.ten Hag had no other option but rely on players he knew because the people in club responsible to find profiles similar to Frenkie de Jong had no clue that Kobbie was capable of in future and instead of finding a lower level but effective and affordable and young long term alternative to de Jong, went and splurged on Casemiro. Obviously ten Hag had to rely on his own phonebook. Not to forget, as Laurie Whitwall exposed in his article, Antony came because the same Club executives had no idea how to find similar profile at a right price after Sancho refused to play on the right. They had no option other than Antony on mad price because they had no brain cells to find a right winger. And then people claim that ten Hag indulged in hiring players he knew. He went for players he knew because the idiots like Murtough couldn't shortlist players to save their life.

De ligt isn't the signing that shows progress we're help funding Bayern's transfer window by helping them buy a defender they want to replace de ligt with from Leverkusen Jonathan Tah who seems to be cheaper. So why are we trying to sign a player that hasn't lived up to his potential and was poor for Juve. Another ten haag signing😢.
