@diegomattia4806 staying at Roma had nothing to do with it. If anything, overly loyal players usually get overrated. He rarely gets mentioned in any conversations about the best this or the best that of his era. I'd say he was criminally underrated
@diegomattia4806Күн бұрын
@@dky555 The reason is simple: there have been players better than him. It’s not a matter of De Rossi being underrated, as you claim, unless you’re suggesting that Pirlo, Iniesta, and others are on the same tier as him. Don’t get me wrong-I’m Italian, I admire De Rossi both as a player and a person. However, even among Roman fans, few would argue that Daniele ranks among the all-time greatest midfielders if you had to choose one standout player. Anyhow, you are entitled to your opinion..Have a great night! :)

I think most football fans don’t understand. This is the most underrated midfielder in the world. And for me one of the best He could do everything, defense, offense, pass, shoot left right, good technique (not Zidane of course but better than most 6,8 ) head, long pass, leader, fighter, strong… Loyalty he stayed at Roma : fantastic but we would have loved to see what would have happened if he went to Madrid like his friend Totti. And he’s one of the few that said no to these big clubs, and not always you have a choice or the level to play there.

Just started watching and very excited. He was one of my favourite players in an era when the midfield general had kind of faded. Keane, gattuso, makelele etc had all kind of gone. The issue comes from the mentality of the club. If you asked most Romanisti if they would rather beat Lazio in every possible Derby match during the season or win the Scudetto, they'd probably opt for the former not the latter. Vice versa for Lazio. They are their own worst enemy. A "provincial" attitude, if you will.
