神奈川・横浜市で、地震発生の瞬間を捉えた映像(JR横浜駅西口付近で撮影) 震度5強。
午後2時50分ごろ。偶然、駅近くのビルの中に居合わせたフジテレビのスタッフが、手持ちのカメラで撮影。
地震を感知し、カメラを外に向けると、目前の舗道には、すでに地割れが起き、悲鳴が飛び交い、逃げ惑う人たちの姿も見える。
向かいにある雑居ビルは、大きく横に揺れ、きしむような音を立て、ガラスというガラスも落ちんばかりに動いている。
異常な事態を察し、撮影を続けていたスタッフは、ビルの階段を駆けおり、屋外へ。
大勢の人が建物から外に避難して、商店街は騒然としている。地震の爪痕があちらこちらに残っている。
大型スーパー店頭では、長く、すさまじい地割れが舗道に沿って続いている。
地震は、いったん収まったかと思われたが、再び大きな余震が襲い、周囲が騒然とする。
スーパーの店舗を支える大きな柱も、基礎部分が地割れで、半ば宙に浮き、ぐらぐらと揺れているのがわかる。
一連の衝撃に、商店街は、あふれんばかりの人で埋めつくされていた。

Around 2:50 p.m., a Fuji TV staff is at the scene, coincidentally with a hand held camera. Sensing the earthquake, the camera is pointed outside. The pavement out front has cracked, screams fly past each other and people are running to escape. The building across the street is greatly swaying sideways and creaking. Its glass is barely holding on, moving together with the swaying. Realizing the abnormal situation, the staff holding the camera runs down the stairs of the building and out. A great number of people have evacuated outside the buildings and the shopping area is in a stir. Scars left by the earthquake remain all around. In front of the large-scaled supermarket, there is a long tremendous crack continuing along the pavement. The quake seemed to have quieted, but another big aftershock arrives and people are in tumult. A thick pillar supporting the supermarket floats midway in air, swinging unsteadily due to its foundation cracking. The shopping area is filled with people, amongst the series of commotions.
