Wether Richard Petty is driving or not, he's still my Hero, GODDAMMIT, he put those Mopars on the map, especially that '73-'74 STP/Petty Enterprises Dodge Charger, the best damn cool looking car on any track!!! I must say, that was REAL NASCAR back then!!! NASCAR today is a pure joke, I rarely watch it!!! Mopar Nate Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I wonder what Petty did with those 13 grandfather clocks he won? Everyone in the Petty family probably got 1 as a Christmas present

If NASCAR had the balls to take a poll of all the fans around the country, I'll bet the majority if not all of them would vote for this kind of racing again. Racing the way it use to be. None of this restrictor plate....competition caution...green white checker crap of today. Just a straight all out race like the old days. But ya know what? NASCAR DOESN'T have the balls to ask the fans what they think, because they're more concerned with sponsorship and money than what the fans really want. Give us back the reacing of the 70s. Because today's NASCAR racing is nothing but a f*cking JOKE.

The France family was always concerned about money first. Read up on the first race at Talledega.

Finding a way to make the racing like the 70s while keeping the field as even as possible should be NASCAR's main priority. Obviously, it isn't...

@@mtchcrtrmm9299 NASCAR wants to make money. But crowds have been smaller in recent years So if they were really paying attention they would design a racing package and rules package that attracts more fans, this increase their revenue. Obviously the top brass of NASCAR don't care what the fans think....which is really stupid because they get a good amount of money from the fans. But the current style of racing drives fans away. I don't know for sure but maybe they make so much money from sponsors and tv, that losing money at the gate makes no difference to them anymore.

Hate to break it to you, but restrictor plates were in use in the early 70s.
@1983jblack11 ай бұрын
@adcoxrobert3786 There's no way in Hell they'll let the drivers on especially superspeedways without restrictor plates. The fans can cry all they want but the drivers even said the speeds were and still are dangerous at well over 200 mph and it's their necks not the fan's. The rest of the rules back then can come back
