VERY few people realise this WAS actually written by Van Morrison. Most of us older folks just remember the huge hit it was when Shadows of Knight did it back in about 1966. EVERY garage band had this in the repertoire back in the day-- we ALL played this. Super job Dea Matrona-- you blew us all away!

It was Van Morrison with Them. Right? It wasn't a solo song, but with the group Them. I was just a kid in the 60s but I had two older sisters and grew up with music always on.

That was only in America - in England we almost never heard this played by Van on radio etc., as it was released as the B side of a 45 single record with another of his tracks!

An inspired cover by the Fab 3. Instrumentals in the original are there to underscore the vocals, but DM have transformed them with a dynamic, upbeat rendition. Here the music is telling the story just as much as the lyrics. The song is about a night to remember and Orlaith's beguiling vocals, with a twinkle in the eye, gets straight to the point. Mamie's drums march Gloria to the front door. The bass keeps the pulse racing. Topped by Mollie's wonderful lead guitar, improvising the basic chords with some juicy R & B riffs....Gloria is definitely in the room !! 3 young women from County Down have breathed new life into a song written/recorded by a teenager from Belfast nearly 60 years ago. All done in 2mins 20. Perfect.

The stunning looker (they all are!) on the Epiphone is very impressive on guitar and harmonies. Drummer kept excellent time, and lead vocalist/bassist has that 'sultry' voice. Her bass playing was good too. I really enjoyed this. We need more female instrumental bands, rather than 'backing track' queens, like Little mix and the like. Although I read that one of them played the recorder at school. Excellent sound, girls. Keep up the great work!
@VinE836562 ай бұрын
Check them out some more. They released their debut album this year. The drummer left, but the two front women have continued with studio musicians as backing band. They both play bass and guitar.

Because most youngsters are "Look how *I* can shred", "Look how avant-garde *I* am", etc. Me, me, me. These ladies are about making music *together*.
