I was so hype when the teaser came out that revealed - but also spoiled - the "I Will Survive" sample (a classic we all know and love), so hearing the song in full did not make a huge impact upon first listen. But after the second listen, there's no denying that "After Like" is a smash, and IVE is officially 3-for-3 with their title tracks.

I love the sweet and nostalgic sound they went for here. Very laid back yet bubbly. Definitely not as good as Eleven or Love Dive but still a good song. Easy on the ears and catchy. I personally liked the verses more than the chorus, but the chorus was still great. IVE are 3 for 3. They have a bright future ahead of them. Here’s to ROTY.

I have conflicting feelings, because as much as I support IVE, the nicest parts of the song to me are actually the samples from the 70s classic "I will survive". In fact this song is nothing without these samples. It is otherwise flat. I want “I will survive” to recieve the credits and acknowledgement that it deserves. At the same time I also will want Ive to keep making songs like Eleven and Love Dive that are truly original and stand out from the crowd. But sadly here, it relies too strongly on a very classic tune. It almost feels as if this song is written just for an excuse on ride on a classic song. Small samples are common, but not dominantly in full verses like this, and for at least 3 times in the song for extended time
