Suppressors should be treated like cigars: you appreciate the character of each one, and you don't need a tax stamp to buy them.

Agreed. The street price of this one in the US is about $745. Go to some countries of Europe where they are encouraged/required and suppressors are more like $150 and without the tax stamp or government hassle. If the US would yank suppressors off the NFA the price would be much more affordable and the supply plentiful. Some enterprising company would even sell them in vending machines.

Can’t understand why suppressors are so expensive.
@ReverendBow
@ReverendBow 4 жыл бұрын
Because they can charge that much... and you have to buy an illegal tax stamp on top of the suppressor price to get in the cool toy club. Now, granted, these ones use some pimp, high dollar materials, but they can be made much less expensively with more common materials and work well
@donnieates
@donnieates 4 жыл бұрын
I’ve noticed plenty of these channels with lots of content on suppressors have a dog in the fight. Meaning there’s money flowing their way somehow other than through views on their channels. There’s definitely some HUGE markups on these things way beyond manufacturing and marketing costs. These gun channels would and have turned their backs on sites guilty of ammo and firearm sales gouging during shortages. But these same channels endorse and take part with these suppressor companies as they take advantage of pro 2A consumers by artificially inflating the market. Disgusting

@paullinkins8121

What is the quietest silencer you've used on an AR15?
@RRRRobbbb
@RRRRobbbb 4 жыл бұрын
To answer your question, the ammo is all supersonic, so it makes a loud sonic crack no matter what. Any variation in muzzle or shooter ear volume is negligible.
@brianwolf692009
@brianwolf692009 4 жыл бұрын
@@RRRRobbbb that didn't answer my question. I know you've chronoed a few of the silencers, so I was wanting to know which one you found to be the less noisy. I can't afford to go buy one yet, but when I do, I want to get the quietest silencer for night hunting yotes and hogs.
@RRRRobbbb
@RRRRobbbb 4 жыл бұрын
@@brianwolf692009 It absolutely did answer your question, as the sonic crack from the bullet is always going to be identical, and that is what hogs are going to hear most because it occurs closest to them. But I'll give you more info anyway. I'm not the guy from the video, but I did a ton of research on the subject before ultimately going with the Dead Air Nomad. For an AR-15, your best bet in terms of absolute reduction both at shooters ear and at the muzzle is likely going to be the Nomad-L with a 5.56 end cap on it instead of .30. It's one of the largest 30 cal cans on the market and has large internal volume due to its length. Not many people have metered it because its new, but just by virtue of its construction it's going to suppress better. As long as you don't care about the extra weight and length, that's your best bet.
