a terrific story, well written and narrated. I liked how this showed just how quickly the zombie plague would spread. Most people are not prepared to defend themselves. the fact that the zombies are so fast, and that they do not react to serious wounds, would spell the end for most people. Before anyone could get over the "WTE" moment, they would be attacked and infected. What is especially horrible is that anyone who refused to abandon the wounded, the elderly, children, or anyone unable to run and fight, would die with them. I know that it only makes sense that most people would not survive the first hour of a zombie plague, but I still cannot help routing for them and being sorry when they don't make it. All your stories are written so well, that we are immediately drawn into the world of the protagonists. Got to admit, though, I really loved how the pompous "praying" man got nailed. He was making sure everyone saw him being holier than thou, and he got nailed for not listening to someone trying to save his life. Just a thought: how about a story from the point of view of someone----just a regular office worker-----having gone to bed the night before and everything is fine, only to wake up and start getting ready for work, only to see the world teaming with zombies. What would a person do? Panic? Doubt their senses? Think they have been drugged or were the victim of a biological attack that was making him hallucinate?

I worked in a press plant for automotive parts -just gonna say they're huge, loud, somehow still claustrophobic the way they segment each job; tools are lying around everywhere, the doors are ALWAYS open, and they run 24/7. Oh, and a two-tonne press - it's a grizzly way to go...
