Thanks for all your comments. So pleased it is helping people recycle batteries rather than just binning them!

I got 3 dead batteries back in action with your help. Thanks a lot!..... But since I haven't a power pack like yours I used a 9V alkaline battery. Works like a charm!

Yes!! I tried all variants of the paper clip trick, to no avail. The Xbox battery's voltage was at a complete zero. Following your method, I jump-started it for 10-20s using a 9V battery, and it is now charging with the usual red light as I'm writing this. :) Thanks!

Its frikking 2021 and I decided to take out my old trusty Xbox360 elite and play some Forza Motorsport 2... The damn batteries died, untill I found your video. Had also an old Nikko 9.6v battery charger (puts out about 12v) but what the heck, it worked like a charm! The charging cable is lighting up red, and pins 2 and 4 were showing 0.0v, but after the method it shows 1.4v again! Thanks so much for making this video waaaay back in 2015!

Very good explaination and it totally works! I did mine with an old 5V cellphone charger It's the first time ever that I use the battery. It malfuction right from the start and I bought it along with the console in 2008! Thank you very much!

Damn thanks man, saved me 2 battery packs. one was 0.6v and the other 0.09v to begin with. 5 minutes of getting a 12v 1A brick, cutting its cables and doing your trick worked excellent. Idk if this has anything on the longevity of the batteries but they charge and work!

I used this method to recover two Nyko batteries. I don't have a DC power supply like in the video but my car battery charger only puts out 10 volts at the 2 amp setting and it did the trick to "jump start" my controller batteries.
@DUKETACTICS3333 жыл бұрын
Yeah but you're not showing us which wire is the positive or the negative you're just talking about while the wires aren't even view? And then you place the wires on so I'm assuming you put the positive wire to the positive and the negative to the negative?
@brucebraainz29576 жыл бұрын
Hi! Its ok if I use a 9v 200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery to make it jump start? sadly I dont have access to a power supply like yours, and I dont know if a battery of that amperage will be enough, and if I must leave it making contact for more time to work.
@lindsywhiting39367 жыл бұрын
Dude, your camera zooms in when you say which is the negative and positive, so we don't actually KNOW which one should be used to touch the battery.
@lindsywhiting39367 жыл бұрын
I presume you are holding to Red being positive and black being negative, and that you wouldn't have switched the wire positions after.
@tribble107 жыл бұрын
Your wires may well look different to mine so use a multimeter to check which is +ve or -ve. The Red multimeter wire is always +ve so if you connect the wires and the meter says for example -9.00v it means the -ve wire is connected to the Red multimeter wire. (which is the wrong way round) If the reading says simply 9.00v (like in the video) the the correct +ve wire has been connected to the Red multimeter wire and that is the one to put on Pin 2 and the other must be the -ve to put on pin 5

What is that power lab?
@tribble107 жыл бұрын
juan de la cruz hi, the Power lab thing is just a 240v to multiple voltage transformer, which can be set at 3, 6, 9,12 volts but try and use one with a decent ampage , like 1.3ah to 3ah

I did the same to an Energizer brand battery and it bricked the circuit board. The rechargeable batteries were salvageable sfter taking it apart. I just use them to power my GameCube Wavebird controller.

So how do i do it my battery is not working need help
@tribble106 жыл бұрын
Hi, unfortunately not all rechargeable batteries can be saved. If you have followed the video and it doesn't work then chances are the battery is dead. :(
@benjaminyoung36706 жыл бұрын
Hello wood the battery below up
@tribble106 жыл бұрын
If you mean blow up, i'd say unlikely with a 12v 2a power supply following the instructions. Remember you only touch the connectors for a second, you DO NOT leave the power supply connected to the battery or indeed it may blow up!
