Also if you're just generally following whoever and bump into the same guy that's luck not tunneling. Tunneling is focusing on one person intentionally and not giving them a chance to really play

That always happened to me and I very quickly stopped enjoying the game. But I think off I get some friends to play with me I might enjoy it more
@cyb3rblitzx5302 жыл бұрын
Tunneling maybe considered poor etiquette but certain Killers require it and get benefits with their perks for targeting the obsession. I feel like if the devs wanted to avoid tunneling they wouldn't put so much emphasis on the obsession.
@ohno83982 жыл бұрын
I remember when I used to play, I'd almost always be a survivor and it was a point of humor for me and my friends when we got tunneled. We'd either get to play the hero or lead the killer to everyone else. Good times.
@shinysnivy66042 жыл бұрын
But don't most obsession perks reward you for not tunneling the obsession Dying light, save the best for last, play with your food, dark devotion, furtive chase, even rancor makes you leave the person until the end if you want to mori them. All of these reward you for chasing a mix of the obsession and the other survivors.

Kevin is one of those youtubers/streamers who are so honest to his viewers and himself about his mental health. The fact he was even able to come out with saying the only reason he hasnt been doing streams lately is the anxiety he is facing and that is very something I admire from him. I'm really glad he is now taking more care of himself and as much as I loved the often streams I always thought about how much he does for his viewers/subscribers and that it had to be really stressful for him to upload back to back content plus streams. Plus I think it sheds some light on the fact that famous people can still have anxiety even if its there job to be a content creator!

Problem about that, is then the jerks that would teabag after jumping over a pallet, and trash talk him after the matches is sucky, but with your advice makes it the same for them too then. "they can play however they want, if Kevin complains its his problem not theirs" bad mindset.
@Eli-so9ud2 жыл бұрын
@@CoLdBITeR I agree with this. I’ve started playing recently and when experienced Survivors figure out that you’re a new Killer, they usually start trolling or being toxic. Accidental tunnelling is going to happen when you’re new, even if you try to avoid it. If someone says “tunnelling is fine and it’s only the Survivors’ problem and not yours”, then that immediately means that Survivors can be toxic and troll in return. It works both ways

I've honestly never liked the whole sub and donation system, or at least what it's become for most channels. It always seems like it pushes streamers to respond to every single thing and then half the stream is just reading off names and responding to messages. There's just something off putting about paying streamers money just so they'll notice you or read your message out loud. We should be donating & subbing to streamers cause we want to support them, not so people can force the streamer to give them a pat on the head during a live stream. Idk maybe it's just me, but I feel like that's what streaming has devolved into a lot of the time. If people feel angry or betrayed because a streamer doesn't read off their name for a sub or donation, that's just pathetic and really emphasizes the fact that those people aren't primarily donating to support them, but because they want some sort of personal acknowledgement of their existence for whatever reason.
@nicolaso215 Жыл бұрын
@@thehumanity0 You're extremely right. It's a really screwed up system; the more popular a streamer gets, the more insufferable they are to watch or listen to. I'm really glad that Kevin toned down on it- anything before like 2021 is entirely unwatchable.

I adore dbd and I'm super excited to see how he plays it - It seems like a lot of creators that have felt stressed for youtube, or content creating/editing have started going almost exclusively DBD on Twitch, and really seem to enjoy the new outlet, especially because the DBD community is so huge that some of those creators have made second youtube channels just for dbd clips. Is it just me, or is the whole "killer etiquette" just players being salty? Like "tunneling bad" like...I don't play the game, but imposing all these out-of-game rules feels like it could quickly get to the point where people would quit or just not try at all, due to people harassing you for not playing it the "right" way? I dunno, though. I don't have the thickest skin for that kind of thing.
@skeletonwitch. Жыл бұрын
it's an "unwritten rule", because when you HARD tunnel like he did, you are basically robbing another person of playing the game, i think it's understandable to get a little salty when that happens, since you cant really do anything about it. tunnelling IS and CAN be a very very good strategy depending on the situation though, and is sometimes inevitable. you are allowed to play however you want, and other people are free to express their feelings on however you played. besides, you can always hide the endgame chat
@KittyPrydeVFX Жыл бұрын
That's fair. I don't play the game myself, and I only watch Kev's because it's not as scary as watching from a survivor's angle. I just feel bad for people like Kevin who don't know they're doing something wrong, then get bashed for it. Because it clearly affected him, and he's always seemed to try not to do the wrong thing since. Which would be good, but I don't like the emotional effect. Because if I was worried about stepping on ties all the time in a game, I would absolutely lose interest, since I play video games expressly to get away from that sort of environment. Does that make any sense? I am also a very scatterbrained person, so I'm honestly not sure. It seems to be a delicate balance. PS: super cool username btw 👌 As someone who recently finally got an octopus tarot deck, much approve.
@skeletonwitch. Жыл бұрын
@@KittyPrydeVFX I understand that it feels bad to feel like you have to look out for other's enjoyment, but that's just simply in the nature of this game when you play killer, since you are the one that can majorly affect other people's experience. Tbh there aren't many other game genres like this. But like I said, you can ignore these "rules" and facecamp and hard tunnel and bm, since it ain't against the OFFICIAL rules, it's more just in the vein of bad sportsmanship. And like I said again, these can be the best strategies in a lot of situations (except bm). Also, to be fair to him, a LOT of people do not abide by these survivor made "rules", no matter what level they play at. I play 70% surv and 30% killer so I'm prone to being a real bleeding heart (to a fault, mind you) when i play killer, since i know how fucking bad it feels when you wait to get into a queue, load into the game, get found, downed, hooked -- you then get unhooked, but the killer is back, he downs you, puts you back 2 more times so now you're dead, you left the game with less than 5000 points, you probably deranked and wasted time and lost your desire to play for the day (or week) lol. For the record, I do not blame Kevin AT ALL, he can play however he likes, and ffs he is new, people need to give a break to people like him. He is right when he said the community isn't nice to new players, unfortunately. It's just a game, but people get way too in their own heads about it. Also, thank you! It's the name of one of my favourite bands : )

Although you can do it, keep it mind from the Survivors perspective it can end your match very fast, although Survivors could always just get better at looping, dbd has a very divided community of either sweaty toxic players (who complain a lot) and the kindest most chillest people on the planet (who don't care what you do).
