Protip for new Doctor players: His static blast radius is directly linked to his terror radius. Distressing gives his ability a much longer range, making this the one killer for whom Distressing is actually a benefit.

DbD has definitely payed homage to Silent Hill before with the Nurse, and the Yamaoka bloodline (Silent Hill's soundtrack was composed by Akira Yamaoka), so it wouldn't surprise me if they took some inspiration from it for this track.

I think they are trying to go for something that is supposed to start slow and eerie, but then starts to build up the more danger the survivor is in. Then when you get into the chase, the song needs to be at it's climax and is supposed to feel imposing. In the respect, I feel like it fits doctor. I also understand why the used a heavy distorted guitar pluck, there are very few ways to simulate the sound of electricity with an instrument without making it completely digital.

I think this style even fits with his character and with the fact that you don't really hear the chase music on it's own Because almost always this chase music is accompanied with the sounds of his electro-shock Treatment, his crazed laughter and the Survivors painful screams from going mad, it really fits imo The closing in music is awesome and the chase theme itself in comparisson doesn't stand on it's own but I think it's because it's not meant to do so :D

I kinda wish they didn't rework his face though. In my opinion the old design really spoke to the idea that herman has just gone completely mad. Instruments pulling at his face so tightly that he can't even physically show any kind of emotion, he should be in agony and yet, he seems unfazed. He laughs maniacally as he administers treatment to whoever the entity throws his way. It was something that really added to his presence, made him more unsettling. It also matched his voice, the combination of the two made it seem like he wasn't even human anymore. Now he just looks kinda angry and I don't really think it fits as well. I know there's different cosmetics I can use but I kinda wish there was something with the original model. Sorry if the rant seems a bit random but seeing the artwork makes me think of how much better his old look fit the tone of his music.

Old treatmode mode only allowed you to do this once at the start of every game and after a survivor had reached tier 1 Madness you couldn't use it anymore and had to rely solely on rng intervals for survivors to scream and reveal themselves. The cooldown for static blast surprisingly isn't a problem either because you'll spend most of your time chasing the people you find.

I think what makes Doctor more scary than other killers is the very blatant self-mutilation he does to himself. He knows that the best way to scare people is to injure yourself and look happy doing it.
