@mikalow26 hey there, rob is a strong term. even if he does use something from skrill's style, he definitely has his own style and sound; music is made because of inspiration and any of the greatest artists who make any music will say the looked to certain artists throughout their career to create some of the music they made. Mainstream means that the majority of the people now listen to Skrillex before another other dubstep artist. And that means success and money. When someone mentions Dubstep, they have to mention Skirellex. I dont care if he is good or not, but thats success right there. Something that no other dubstep artist has, even if Zomboy is better.

Your wrong about that, Mainstreaming for electronically made genres eventually lead to its downfall as the quality and over all sound of the genre dies out in both the creative sounds area and the overall diversity of producers. EX: Skrillex has a mainstreamed label and because of this his tracks are top of the chart because he picks up newcomers and people new to the dubstep genre who only know that of a few producers. Thus stealing the fame and actual talent from producers that are around

Also Mainstreaming leads the producer to desire only money and in time his music quality begins to fade, having all his tracks lacking their former sound. Each producer has a certain style or sound to their tracks, becoming obsessed with money and with a tight urge to produce tracks to fulfill its completion on time leads only to poor/same sounding tracks. Thus the producers sound becomes a bit stale and washed up.

the only difference is (in my opinion, lets get that clear from step one) that skrillex makes very few good songs, like 80% of skrillex songs are shit and 20% are dope....but so far zomboy has yet to dissapoint me in songs.

As of now, Skrillex's sound is weak and stale, his tracks have no bass or former quality to it. If you ask me, everything after he started producing dubstep is when he really went down hill. He was better off with electro-house. Hell he should of stuck to his band..
