Love, love, love Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance). Saw them 20 years ago in a beautiful theater in Dallas, TX. Major kudos for whomever requested this one! 🕊❤️🕊

@@SaeedReacts.I'm curious to see what it will be. I can recommend “aria” from the movie Layer cake (very good movie!). “sacrifice” is also fantastic or ‘the end’ ...I'm really excited about what people are suggesting to you. It must be exciting to explore so much good music.
@rx7dude2006Ай бұрын
You must just feel the music and with her music that is how you enjoy it, very freeing and no dissecting the lyrics at all.

I love this band!!! I'm thrilled that you're discovering them. So much amazing music! I've been very fortunate to see them twice in Montreal. If you ever have a chance to see them, don't miss it. They have a multitude of world music influences, as you stated. This isn't necessarily typical of their sound. I hope you'll explore more.

Hey Tim , did you see them in the mid ninety's ? I found a vid here on youtube of them live at Le Theatre Maisonneuve ... bot's don't like links or even titles but if you're interested it's here ... It's a full concert from a distance and mostly out of focus but all the songs are there ....

Funny you mentioned the word "duality" as that is the name of an album that Lisa Gerrard made with Pieter Bourke. The most famous track is "Sacrifice", used in the Russell Crowe movie "The Outsider". On that track, Gerrard uses all of her range so that you could swear that part of it is sung by a man. It's amazing.
@SaeedReacts.Ай бұрын
Interesting! Could it be you mean The Insider with Al Pacino and Russell Crowe. Great movie.

@@SaeedReacts. Yes, sorry, I was getting my "siders" mixed up.

Lisa Gerrard is phenomenal. I believe she said she sings in her own invented language (Idioglossia, her "language of the heart"). Most of my favorites of hers, beyond "Sanvean" and "The Host of Seraphim" appear on "The Gladiator" soundtrack, such as "Now We Are Free," "The Wheat," and "Elysium." I was thinking she was also part of the group This Mortal Coil, but I believe it's Elizabeth Frazer of The Cocteau Twins that I'm thinking of, specifically on the track "Song to the Siren," which I would recommend for a reaction video. And, completely straying from Lisa Gerrard, I would also recommend for a reaction Nick Cave, perhaps his duet with Kylie Monogue--the video, not the live version--"Where the Wild Roses Grow." And because Saeed has mentioned that he's a writer, I'd recommend two of Nick Cave's fiction books, as well: "The Death of Bunny Munro" and "And the Ass Saw the Angel."

............................................... 🌿Thanks Saeed !🌿 The ' darkwave ' genre label was listed on wikipedia ... that i added it to the info. on them . But I don't agree ... for me they are unique and very much a fusion of many genres as you mentioned...they make it thier own ... Thier music for me has a dreamy aspect ... takes you places ... one person described it as : " music to listen to in the dark to travel " ... The vocalist Lisa Gerrard said " Music has the ability to take you places ... ~ More beautiful than you were ever promised " Some of her art learns toward darkness and sorrow but that's life .
@SaeedReacts.Ай бұрын
Thats a beautiful quote. Thanks for sharing that. It does take you places. Its indescribable really. Amazing! Thanks again for this request.
