Hey can someone explain how the jump at 22:45 works. I play lots of dead cells but I have no idea how he did it.

Let's break down what he did, first he double jumped which is normal, then he rolled and before he started to fall he attacked with one of his weapons, which gave his roll enough time to reset so he could reach that gap and the Beheaded can parkour to that ledge, any weapon makes you stay idle in the air for a while, some have longer air times than others and some have non at all, like ones that take really long to attack like oven axe, bow and endless quiver have ALOT of air time because it has infinite ammo, quick bow is also similar since you can shoot really fast

Ty for replying but I’m still a little confused. There are two specific things that I didn’t quite understand. Firstly, the initial double jump usually doesn’t go that high and we know that he doesn’t have anymore jumps because we can see the amulet. His double jump was very high and his mid air roll was also weird. Usually when u roll in air, u fall downwards. However, his roll went I a straight line forward. Lastly Ty for explaining the weapon hangtime. I knew you could stall in mid air but idk how he got another double jump afterwards. I’ve played dead cells for years and I still don’t get the full picture. Anyway Ty for trying to help and please lmk if you find out anything else!

It’s not the wall climb I don’t get, it’s the weird double jump at the start, the mid air straight roll, and the third jump he does at the end

Since nobody properly explained it: It's speedrun tech. By attacking right before jumping and walking off the ledge, and cancelling that attack's animation, you get a little height boost you'd normally not get. The same thing applies to the straight roll. Attacking and cancelling the animation combined with rolling makes you transfer the hangtime of the weapon to the roll rather than it always applying. As long as you wouldn't lose height from the weapon because you've already been in the air long enough, you can do that roll with an attack cancel. After that I just attacked normally to keep the hangtime and followed it up with the 2nd normal jump to reach the ledge. This kind of tech is normally used to skip the Vine Rune in runs. Totally unnecessary to do in this situation, but it's in my muscle memory to do things like these.
