To be fair Beheaded and Queen are both wrong, the only real hero is the Collector since he's the one who is searching a cure for the Malaise. And the "absolute betrayal" isn't absolute betrayal at all, since Beheaded doesn't know anything about his past and he was just trying to find a way to end his death loop or at least escape from the Island

Except the video is wrong. You're not the king with a separated soul. You're a homunculus, and one of the endings you can get is to kill the king and take the throne. The video creator probably skimmed the wiki without actually fact checking (the queen also definitely kills you, she's ended many if my runs)

For context: this is the lore (told wrong) of the Dead Cells:Immortalis series, the game's lore is totally different, with the King needing immortality to survive the Malaise and the Collector trying to find a cure while Time Keeper resets the timeline every day. Don't spread misinformation on the lore because it's stated in the game that King became the Beheaded only after the Malaise spread all over the Island. To any new Dead Cells player: please don't listen to this, it's just wrong and this guy is spreading a lot of misinformation.

My interpretation of the lore from pure gameplay (one of the few games I haven't spoiled the lore for myself over) is there is a king who just Locke up innocents, th malaise spreading for unknown reasons, and your just a random dude, running around, killing everything.

The Giant even says "my King" referring to the Beheaded. Your interpretation doesn't make a lot of sense because you didn't finish the game yet

Lowkey i actually love games were there is no happy ending its too cliche you do stuff eventually winning and getting a happy ending it's honestly annoying after a while were you always get a Happy ending but games that have a bad ending and isn't affected by your choices is the best games to me i wish animes would di that also inetead of giving a good ending all the time i wish animes would end a series with a bad ending were it shows the enemy winning in the end showing not the time will the hero win in the end
