IMHO, I think both shows should last five seasons. Your feelings about the differences in the two shows is spot on! Dead City has a more serious plot including if Negan truly has returned to being a Savior. WTF is Daryl doing in Egypt? Where does he end up next--the moon?

Daryl Dixon is a pet project for Reedus. He was heavily involved in going to France in season 1 as it was "convenient " for him and his family. Now he has chosen Spain... then wherever. It is something he can do around his art work/shows, photography etc and he is definitely in charge of this spin off. Bringing in David Zabel imo was a mistake, as he didn't read any comics or see much of the original series , which for the spun off I guess because they wanted a whole different 'feel' is in there eyes ok. But it has to be viewed completely as a whole new separate stand alone show. Basically forget all the old stuff and view it as a different show. I have way, way more respect for 'Dead City' as it is at least trying to stay in part faithful to feel of the original series , plus it is a lot more thought out and follows a format that seems more inkeeping. I was undecided about Daryl in season 1 but season 2 was, I'm sorry for me just poor. I have little patience left for it.

Part of me says dead city because it's in the US, but Daryl is the main character now basically, so as a character, I think he's more likely to keep going

It all really depends on what DC does with it's 2nd season.. if it's something interesting, yet cost-effective enough for them to continue these 6-8 ep seasons - I could see it running on for longer than DD. DD's not interesting enough considering it's budget.

This is why I respect Andrew and Danai for coming back to finish their storylines and moving on,they regressed Maggie and Negans story so they could give them a saviours story in New York and Daryl Dixon is just a traveling show

Norman Reedus is stuck playing Daryl Dixon because he can't book the big movie or TV show jobs,that show will go on for a very long time unless AMC decides to cancel it because of it's low ratings

I feel like it should be Dead City. In Daryl Dixon, Isabella is dead and Laurent left for America. There's no reason for Daryl to stay in Europe now, so how long can they stretch out him just trying to get home??

Depending on what show they got figured out the storyline for the future which looks like it's Dead City, cause Daryl is like a world tour

Dead City will probably go to five. Daryl Dixon, because like you said it has no direction, will painfully drag on longer.

The question should be, How long will Gimpl make it last making spin offs of TWD? I'd love to see Norman Reedus do a comedy series. I already know his younger version. The guy who played Jonathan from Stranger Things. Same eyes, same nose.

Dead City is also cool because it’s the furthest point in the zombie apocalypse. Season 2 is supposed to take place over 19 years into the apocalypse. Can you imagine surviving that long in that world?? 🤯🤯

I just watch cause I’m come this far with the franchise if it ended would no bother me anymore that’s what Daryl Dixon season 2 did to my faith in this franchise

Both will run the same length or so. 4-5 seasons. Daryl might get 6 for the fact they seem to order two at a time and work on them together like that.

I would say, unfortunately that as long as Reedus wants to carry on playing Daryl Dixon then it will last longer, which he has said he has no plans to stop anytime soon. And seeing as he is seemingly in charge of a lot of the decision making as regards locations plus development I imagine it will out last Dead City. Not that it should tho imo. Just seems he has far more clout atm.

Two shows that didn't need to exist, AMC should have been working on an RJ,Judith spinoff in their late 20s,hire Danai as the showrunner, Daryl,Negan,Maggie and Carol are washed

That was the problem with Fear. Erickson had a plan, he had his vision, he had his aesthetic. Ian and Andrew were all over the place, especially going year by year, leading to the disaster that is the final season. It must say something that I feel embarrassed to tell other people that I have watched the franchise. Every time people ask me what I have watched and what I am watching, I no longer bring up anything of the franchise. I hope Alycia Debnam-Carey does not accept any offer to do an LA spinoff because this franchise should be put down for good at some point which hurts to say given I used to be an absolute HARDCORE fan right up until the finale of TOWL.

I think Dan that Both Dead City and Daryl Dixon will be given 10 or 12 seasons also Dan even though you said that Lauren Cohan would really like for Dead City to go on for 4 or 5 Seasons do you think that when she said that that she actually means that she would like to see where the story goes after season 4 and Season 5 of Dead City

I think dear city is more interesting and has a clear story and good connection to the mainline series to go on for awhile. The Daryl show just isn’t as interesting to me even s1 of the show I perfered dead city s1 over it.
