What's impressive is is that Rudy managed to put a wound on Orsted when Ruijerd couldn't. Eris must have realized too how much Rudy is holding back normally.. what a great adaptation!

That is very true! But he kind of caught Orsted off guard with his incantation less magic. Then proceeded to take no damage. But still very impressive regardless. Ruijerds strikes didn’t leave a single mark on Orsted bare hands while Rudy’s earth bullet did actual damage. Just shows the potency of his attacks. Order even had to bust out a defensive technique! Rudy is a beast!

@@AnimeAestheticYT nah he didn't actually intended to do it, he just tried to imitate what rudeus did, and that is to use multiple schools of magic at once. Orsted just tried to flex on rudy and even casually says "It's a lot harder than I thought"

I like how the anime gave a flashforward of Rudy and co being clapped by orsted because when we actually saw him coming, we were scared of him like his "fear curse" affected us.

8:46 I'm not really sure, but I think this was Rudeus frantically trying to figure out which body part to protect as his Demon Eye bombards him with all the possible attacks Orsted could do at that moment. I got chills during this part.

In the fight: When Orsted touch Rudeus, he destroyed his lungs by putting pressure on the inside. If you look closely you can see that Rudeus can't breath.ಥ_ಥ Then with quick thinking, Rudeus tried to distract Orsted by the Spinning Earth Bullet with one hand and use the other to create wind to force oxygen inside his lungs so he can continue to fight. (⊙_⊙;) And by the way the purple fire which Rudeus create was measured up to 39400 C (around 71000 F) which could cause a Nuclear Explosion if Orsted didn't use Wyrmgate. It is a pretty amazing fight between them but Rudeus still have a long way to go to fight against Dragon God.😅

Ahh I see, from the episode it looks like Orsted he places his hand on Rudeus’s stomach area rather than his chest. I guess that’s why we were confused. But yeah he appears to not be breathing well. Thanks for clearing that up! Oh man Rudy really is a crafty one! He used the earth bullet as a distraction. It almost seemed like he wanted to create space between himself and Orsted so he couldnt disrupt his magic casting. Man do you think that purple flame could have actually damaged Orsted? Rudy was imagining a nuke right?

@@aidan6620 It turned violet so 39400 C is accurate. Not that it matters.. being this close to a heat source of 7500 C would have killed all of them anyways. But it's impressive to see just how much Rudy is pulling his punches normally. Eris noticed that too.

Not only did he use wind to fill his own lungs back up, but when Rudy cast it the second time and it sent him flying away, he setup that windburst so that it not only gave him distance away from Orsted, but also filled the space around Orsted's mouth to stop him from saying "Disturb Magic" over and over. That bought him time to power-up the fireball. Kid's SUPER crafty when he's fighting. If only he wasn't a social idiot.

Hey Ricchan! Yes this episode was so hype! There was amazing animation fantastic VA work from everyone. Especially Eris! The emotion she put into the scene where Rudy is dying in front of her eyes was truly tragic and kind of beautiful. We were both blown away by this episode.

STUDIO BIND blew my expectations away with this episode. So for information on where they're at right now, they're in a mountain called the red wyrm mountains, this mountain spans so vast that it splits the central continent into 3 regions, the north, the south, and the west, they're at the south aiming for the west where asura kingdom is, this mountain is quoted as an impassable mountain because its the territory of the red wyrms. But actually there are 2 passageways where you can be safe for like 90% of the time, they're currently at the lower jaw of the wyrm mountains and the other one is the upper jaw. *Red Wyrms-Theyre the strongest monsters in the surface of the central continent without accounting in monsters inside the deeper levels of a labyrinth, one is already a low S-class monster, not to mention they attack anyone no matter how terrifying you are, that's why they attacked orsted in ep8 and when they actually got to see him they backed away. Also a little bit of history, ruijerd actually said laplace used the mountain as a place to corner the humans and ambush them using the red wyrms he can control, that lead to him getting advantage in the 2nd human Demon war. Even ruijerd with 500 years of experience and is an emperor level fighter he lost to orsted because there's a massive gap between emperor and God level warriors. He lost due to multiple reasons: *this wasn't mentioned in the anime -Orsted for one has mastery and knowledge to every known spells and techniques in the world. Basically making him a: *God rank Magician in all schools of magic. *God rank in every sword styles. *Notice how he can also use chantless magic And that's with him having his curses holding him back, at the moment only 2 is known, one is making him basically invisible to the eyes of the man god and the other is every living creature hates and fears him, the other 2 are unknown at the moment. That's why he can fight ruijerd bare handed, and it was changed in the anime but actually when eris attacked him, he used a technique in the water god style called Flow, it is a technique created to counter the signature and powerful move by the sword god style called the longsword of light, rudeus knew Paul used it once but when orsted used it, it was on a different level. Also there's actually one line from orsted that was cut. He was suppose to say something about the man god sending apostles that could not even coat themselves with Touki(Battle aura), rudeus couldn't use it since he doesn't understand the logic of it, the same reason why he can't use chantless healing magic since he doesn't understand how it heals the body, that's why he can't get past intermediate level of swordsmanship, eris, ghislaine, ruijerd can use this consciously, Paul can use it too but he isn't aware how. It basically enhances all your senses and physical abilities making you stronger.

Absolutely They honestly killed it with this one! Haha they are so badass they can take the impassable route! But they did release this time it was even more impassable. So there are labyrinths hope they show more of those and the monsters with in! Man wish they mentioned this in the anime he is such a beast! Ruijerd did not stand a chance but he fought valiantly! I cant even imagine how strong he would be with a weapon. He is the definition of OP! Whoa Flow sounds cool! Ohhh Touki sounds like Haki from One Piece! @@AnimeAestheticYT no problem, BTW I forgot orsted has spells exclusive to the dragon god, especially he has his own rendition of Touki(Battle Aura), And laplace is mentioned to have been sealed by perugius and I think 5 other heroes if I remember correctly where perugius and 2 other survived gaining them the title of killers of the Demon god, also this was mentioned by another comment already but don't look up anything that has to do with the 7 great powers even if it's just names. Brilliant use of foreshadowing to get the audience in the correct [scared/anxious] mindset for this episode! Also, Rudy is so badass pushing air to his collapsed lungs to continue the fight.

Great Reaction. This episode was the best. The tension, the action, the emotions. Eris has really grown up so much, imo the character with best development out of all the others side characters. She has gotten so strong, she was able to get Ruijerd fight seriously, not at his best potential like he did with Orsted but he fought seriously. At this point Eris would be strong as a saint, remember at the one of the previous episodes Ruijerd was easily beating up some North saint before with no effort. Eris would be most likely be stronger than Gallus the smuggler at this point. It was really heartbreaking to see her cry for help in desperation and beg for someone to save Rudeus, remember that Eris is someone who will def not beg to people, since she is a strong girl. It most be a really traumatic and bad for her mental health, she watched how everyone she hold dear die in her eyes and specially Rudeus actually die, she also got defeated by Orsted so easily after she just been a warrior and proven by Ruijerd and worked so hard. Eris is def best girl for me.

This episode was the best! Studio Bind absolutely killed it! The EMOTION! Yeeeeees! I don't know if we properly conveyed how we felt when we saw Eris! We rewatched it again and the emotion she is expressing in that scene as she watches Rudy die in front of her eyes is something to behold. Its so heartbreaking and beautiful. She really has grown so much and truly is best girl.

About the demon god Laplace, he's mentioned in the end of EP6. He was defeated and sealed by Perugius.

@@AnimeAestheticYT some extra info regarding the og comment: The Demon God Laplace was not defeated by Perugius alone, it was a mssive team effort that included the human and beast folk armies + 7 heroes (very strong people but only the survivors are known). 4 heroes died during the fight and the rest (Dragon God Urupen, Armored Dragon King Perugius+his companions, for example Almanfi is one of them, and the north god Kalman the 1st). They were also helped by Ruijerd who intervened in the final fight because he wanted revenge for the death of his family and almost all the other superds. After Laplace was sealed The Dragon God Urupen died shortly after, Kalman the 1st lived a happy, married life, but passed away due to old aga (he was a human) and Perugius is the only one of the 7 heroes still alive today. The present calendar was named after him, kinda like a before/after Christ, for example Rudeus was born in the year K407 of the Armored Dragon calendar. Edit: Aninews made a video about the lore of Mushoku Tensei, but keep in mind the video only covers info Rudeus read from a history book at the Boreas mansion in volume 2, and most of the written history/myths and legends are pure bs, or at the very least greatly exagerated.

Trivia from the novels, the flame changes colors because Rudy imagined a small nuke to shoot at Orsted. If landed it may render the mountain to nothing. This is why Rudeus almost never use fire magic because of its destructive effect. Source chapter 9 volume 6

the first turning point was kinda like the end of the tutorial and the start of lvl 1 This turning point kinda serves as transition point, it opens up the world and introduces a lot of topics that will become important later in the serries(the girl with Orsted and Hitogami and Orsted's feud for example) Mushoku Tensei is a pretty long series with a lot of twists and turns(the anime is currently 6/25 volumes in) Were in for a pretty long ride

Yeah...this episode made me think about some anime and even cartoons...Bleach (hole in his chest and the stopping of the blade with hand), Naruto (when Team Taka fights 8 Tails and Sasuke get's healed by Jugo but doesn't heal him ''perfectly" so you can still see the mark), Samurai Jack (when the bounty hunters stay hidden in the snow waiting for Jack...but it takes a lot of time for him to appear on the screen...)... EDIT: Or Inuyashiki...because of that scene when Ruijerd is spinning in the air after that punch... That's just my mind thinking about other "similar" things I saw before... sorry for my english....

We totally feel you on these references! It was like he was a hollow in that scene and yeah when Orsted stops Eris's blade it totally reminded Nicole of Ichigo vs Aizen! Oh man when sasuke gets healed by Jugo after his fight with Bee haha! That almost exactly the same! YO Samurai jack is awesome! Did you finish the final season!? Its so good! The author had taken a lot of inspiration from various works for MT. Rance is definitely one, and I'm convinced there's Spice and Wolf and FMA in that DNA as well. So yeah, why not Bleach and Naruto as well.

Some stuff here that people may have missed 1) Orsted crushed Rudy's lungs suspecting he was a mage due to his staff, to stop him being able to cast incantation magic (healing). Rudy used the air to pump his lungs with oxygen. Rudy also used the stone to support him and the air to get him out of the disturb magic range. Orsted did not want to kill anyone but Rudy, making non lethal attacks on Rujierd and Eris. Also Orsted used that shield to absorb the fireball since Rudy's spell would've destroyed the whole mountain range since it had mana similar to the quantity of the demon god laplace in it (killing Eris with him at the very least).

Yeaahh, so awesome. And I TOTALLY agree Kenjiro Tsuda is absolutely in my top 5 VAs(And the dude who does Roswaal/Clayman from Slime Takehito Koyasu). Man I WISH they would start finding English Dub actors who were that good and put that much effort. I rewatched it because it was badass but I rewatched those 7 minutes multiple times just to hear his voice. Also I think Ruijerd's Voice actor is fantastic too(And he has a role in Stone Ocean) Also i think it was 4 total curses because he said "And he has three others" or something like that. Orsted is a SAVAGE holy crap, I want to see the Technique God and all of the rest.

If I remember correctly, this fight was animated, even before most character profiles were finalised, as you can see this fight in the original promo of Mushoku Tensei, and honestly speaking, this fight deserves it! :)

I believe it has been in production since 2016/17 And they spent the first couple years creating a distinctive look and style, while also creating a transliteration (essentially a font) of English and some other languages, if memory serves right. Hence, for every piece of writing you see in the anime, they can be deciphered and actually read! This includes signs, Rudeus's and Roxy's notes, etc.

That episode was absolutely fantastic honestly. Studio Bind are GOATs honestly. That's one of the few times when I believed that the main character actually die. Seeing Ruijerd go Feral and see all that effort translate to nothing is crazy. Puts the power right into scale. Oh and the reason why Rudy went all blood coughy was cause Ornstead popped his lungs when he put his hand on his chest, 'Cause Rudy's a mage and in the Mushuko Tensei universe a mage with no lungs can't chant so can't attack which is why Rudy's first attack caught Ornstead so off guard (incantation less magic being so rare) and why when Rudy got revived he woke up coughing blood,, I think it's pretty cool & subtle way of showing how battle hardened and experienced ornstead is compared to everyone we've seen so far P.S Great reaction video, btw!!

That opening scene was not in the novel, it was added to keep the viewers on edge, instead of wondering what Orsted's deal is, as it happened while reading it They also cut short Orsted's words towards Ruijerd, because Orsted was actually quite friendly towards Ruijerd Speaking of which, Ruijerd was still cursed when Eris and Rudeus met him, and the situation was pretty much the same, with Rudeus calmly talking while Eris freaked out Orsted pretty much allowed Rudeus to make some moves, because he likes to know his opponents

@@AnimeAestheticYT People being afraid of the Superd should only trigger when they directly observe them. The cultures have had 400 years of turning the warriors into boogiemen. Roxy's especially susceptible to the stories. But now that I look back on it, it seems that she's far more afraid of Superds after seeing Ruijerd than she was before that point. But it's ambiguous whether it's the curse of fear at play or just her internalized childhood trauma. It's one thing to remember childhood boogieman stories and another to actually see the boogieman in the flesh. Anyone who encounters Orsted has the curse linger. They will always remember him as the devil incarnate and quake at the recollection of him.

He is outright offended that Rudeus wasn't protecting himself with Battle Aura, cursing the Man-God for sending someone so defenceless against him. Meanwhile it took Rudeus conjuring a literal tank shell to pierce Orsted's Dragon Battle Aura.

Amazing episode! was waiting for this and we got more than what we expected. This episode follows strongly in the WN/LN as well which is nice. Anyways, as a fellow WN/LN reader who completed the story, I'd like to share some trivia with you about this episode without spoiling anything further. -If you're wondering where are they now, they are in the Red Dragon Mountains which is just before Asura Kingdom. And yes as the name says, it is filled with Red Dragons. a single red dragon is on par to a S rank Adventurer. but Red Dragons tend to move in Flocks. However they cannot fly above level ground, thats their only weakness. So people at the ground level near the area are at least safer than those climbing the mountains. - If you're wondering why Rudy is stupid enough to talk towards Orsted even when told not to, he wasnt inflicted by the curse of Orsted. Even Rudy was quick to tell that Orsted is somehow "all-knowing" so it intrigued his curiosity and think he could trust his answer so he asked him about the mana disaster and even about Hitogami (Man-God) - You can clearly see that when Ruijerd and Eris was engaging with Orsted, their Visibly Scared Faces still remain. The curse of fear from Orsted doesnt wear off even when you try to fight against it. - Notice how Eris actually tried to use magic. Remember that Rudy taught her about magic. She was able to do a simple fireball spell to light a campfire before once but it seems the anime missed that and put that in here instead. Good call. - From the mention of Orsted knowing Ruijerd and Eris' names without ever meeting them yet and knowing that Paul should only have two daughters...That's more than enough of a hint of what Orsted's power is capable of. - It wasn't clear but Rudy was surprised to see a person (nanahoshi) with BLACK hair. He has never seen anyone in this world with black hair before. this can be fun for speculations - A nice thing to point, Orsted's first attack on Rudy was to Damage his lungs severely. Its more than enough to Kill Rudy too since he will just suffocate. Since Orsted knows Rudy is a magic user, he thought damaging the lungs would not make him cast spells since you have to actually say the magic spell to be able to use them normally but what he didnt realize is Rudy uses incantationless magic. And since Rudy has almost a limitless amount of mana in him, he can still cast magic. that's why he can put up some fighting chance even while injured like this - This episode now introduced a new magic called "Disturb Magic". Seeing as Rudy is cunning you can imagine what he do with it. The other powers that Orsted uses are his own though. - If you havent seen it, Orsted was visibly impressed to Rudeus' ability to do two separate incantation-less magic on each hand. He was also impressed when the Stone Cannon Rudy did to Orsted actually grazed him. Yes that was a graze. - Notice how orsted only used his bare hands against Ruijerd and Eris but with Rudy, he had to use some magic against him. This point will be important later when you know Orsted's fighting style -Orsted mentions later that Rudy has no "Magic Armour" considering he has a large amount of mana on par with laplace and is disappointed that he can simply impale him. It wasnt mentioned in the anime though. Yes there is a thing called "magic armour" that anyone with mana can use to make them at least tank some hits. -Yes, Orsted's curse affects also Animals. Its why their horse just up and ran away. - Orsted being able to Heal a fatally injured and near to death Rudy shows that there is really advanced Healing magic out there that can even do that. All Rudy knows is just hear wounds, bruises and broken bones. But heal up an entire major organ is a really complex one but it is possible. -T BH I would've wanted this episode to end up to when Rudy Dies. It would keep alot of fans speculating but there is NO extra scene after Rudy dying. Once the scene with him talking to Hitogami (ManGod) starts, thats the moment he woke up and was alive next. The rest will of course be explained in the future episodes. You guys think you would expect Rudy to run up to the Seven Great World Powers in order? Nahhh he meets the 2nd Great World Power immediately and got whooped! The animation in this is stunning as always! Dragon God wont take any bullshit!

Been a little busy with stuff and wanted to make sure to give this a proper reply! -Oh thats good to hear that it mostly stays true to the source material! -Red Dragon mountains, wow this this like an area in a MMO where all the strongest monsters are haha. That terrifying that they move in flocks! Especially considering each one is an S rank. This kind of sounds like killer whales or loins in real life, they are already one of biggest and strongest apex predators but they also stay in a group. All the most deadly! Thats interesting how they cant fly over level ground, is there an in world explanation as to why they cant fly over level ground? -Whoa that fear curse is crazy it even effects them when their fighting him. Its almost like a nerfing the fighter a bit right? Im thinking of scarecrows fear toxin! That stuff debilitates batman to the point where he cant even fight. IF it is anything like that it is incredible that Eris and Ruijerd were able to fight him at all! Thansk for sharing this tid bit that SO interesting! Love it haha! -We do remember Rudy teaching her back in the first cour, yeah it was a good call to put in here! Her attempting to use it really made the situation feel all the more dire! Great change IMO as well! -Orsted is incredibly powerful! And has such a great voice haha (Kenjiro Tsuda fanboy and fangirl) So curious as to how this is even possible... we have some WILD thoughts but not anything solid. -Thats such a smart move from Orsted! Wish Rudy took advantage of Orsted not expecting his next attack, but he was able to damage him. Which was quite surprising. -Yeah, that disturb magic seems very useful especially against a magic user! We already know rudys next plan haha only because at the time of writing this we have seen episode 22! -Cant believe that was only a graze! Pretty damn powerful graze haha! -Hmmm interesting! Yeah he only used bare hands but magic with rudy... interesting indeed lol -We have heard of this magic armor from Kyle in the comments before actually, it sounded similar to Haki in one piece. We hope rudy will be able to learn from this experience and develop it himself. -Yeah when he just straight up yeeted himself off a cliff was very unexpected. The red dragon in episode 8 also seemed to be effected as well, but to a lesser degree. -It was pretty insane that he was able to heal Rudy to that degree and the fact that something like that is possible! -Yeah it should have ended the episode a bit earlier to seem fans guessing that would have been EPIC, still really really really enjoyed this one and it was great to finally meet one of the 7 great powers. Cant believe we met basically the strongest one straight off the bat! The rankings of the Seven World Powers get a bit wonky, when you look at them. Technique God created the system and he's first, despite being MIA for Roxy knows how long. Dragon God Orsted is the strongest, yet he's ranked second. Fighting God is also MIA. Demon God Laplace has been sealed/dead for 419 years by that point. Death God just closed his food shack because of Rudeus. Seriously, he's one of the deadliest mofos on the Six-Sided World, but he just wants to grill. Sword God is the top practitioner of the Sword God Style, currently Ghyslaine's master Gal Farion. North God is the top practitioner of the North God Style, and he's just wandering the world. Since the rankings of the top four are weird and not necessarily related to actual power, it needs to be pointed out that Orsted inherited his ranking. Dragon God Urupen was one of the heroes with Armored Dragon King Perugius and North God Kalman who defeated Laplace. So Laplace got knocked down in the rankings while Urupen went up.
