This video shows how to restore the geometry of the seats in the Detroit Dizel 12.7 engine block. These engines are highly susceptible to corrosion under the liners and the subsidence of the liners, resulting in punching the gasket of the block head. The protrusion of the sleeve from the factory is quite low: somewhere from 0.0 to 0.03 mm. over time, the upper shoulder of the sleeves loosens, an access of antifreeze is formed, which in turn accelerates the process of destroying the shelf in the block. The factory tolerance for the ledge is from 0.00 to 0.076 mm in terms of inches. I try to make the ledge higher in this limit. In this case it was cut off in the order of 0.44 mm for laying of repair washer, whose thickness is 0.5 mm. the Block was milled in two passes. I had to mill blocks and one and a half millimeters, but in this case, Customers prefer not to remove everything completely, but only to align the geometry and lift the sleeves. After this procedure, the equivalent protrusion of the sleeves relative to each other is also achieved. I would like to note that I do not really want to cut deep enough because of the constructive selection under the shelf (I shot it separately in the video).

This procedure is desirable to perform with all six holes, this is stated at the end of this video. • Опять пробило прокладк... #MOTORIST #DALNOBOY
