READ: For the record, I was the one who said "Finally!", because holding the camera to record it was NO FUN AT ALL and rather tiring. Besides, it was my second viewing anyway (although it was still kick ass).

To everyone saying that Rinoa isn't that powerful, I mean she's not in FF 8 main game but I'm guessing Monty wanted her to use Ultmecia's powers since that's what most of the FF 8 theories pointed to about Rinoa and Ultmecia. As for Kairi, it is a bit random but it is nice to see her as a fighter and not a damsel in distress.

Thanks for this video - I was looking for one with an audience reaction, to be reminded how many people Monty's work touched. Can't believe he passed away yesterday, what a loss to the world. RIP, Monty.

I saw this at my first trip to anime expo and I went absolutely balistic. It is so freakin awesome not to mention the effort that went into these pieces is amazing. Ive become a total DEAD FANTASY junkie ^^

OMG!!! Kairi kicks ass!! OMG, I loved the way people screamed at 8:01. It was PERFECT! The Valor Form killed it, as well as her entrance. Kairi's amazing here. I can't stop watching this. AMAZING.

I think that's because most people opted for her Angelo Limit Break, rather than her Angel Wing. I never really found a use for magic (bar a specific selection) but when you use Angel Wing Rinoa's magic is potent and actually makes them useful. Of course, once you use Angel Wing you no longer control what she casts and it lasts till the end of the battle so that's probably the reason it was dismissed. She was powerful in that form, though.

In case anyone cares, the magic Tifa was using includes Stop. Haste, Demi, Fire, Ice, pretty sure Wall was in there too, Lightning a couple of times...she also uses Beat Rush, Meteor Drive and Final Heaven that I saw... Kay, done being a geek nao :3

So who noticed all the salutes Monty did? Evolution Daigo full parry, Dante's Rainstorm, Lili's Tekken throw, and a whole slew of others. I was standing right next to him during the airing, and kept turning to him going "dude... wtf."

If I was holding a three pound camera for over ten minutes and had to hold it still, I would also say "finally" when it's over. Great video though; I especially love it when I can hear the audience's reactions (everyone cheering, in awe, etc.) 5/5 *roots for the FF girls because I have no idea who the DOA people are*

@dragondook Technically Rinoa doesn't junction anything anymore because she's a sorceress. The whole junctioning system was simply devised simulate the way sorceresses fight. Though she uses toward the end of the tornado portion, where it kinda looks like she is using a kamehameha wave.

it's an axe, her name is Rachel, she's from a game called Ninja Gaiden, I think it's the same company that made DOA, so that pretty much explains why Rachel is on the DoA's side

To cafeterialoca, if I read you post correctly, you said Tifa never got hit, but she did indeed get his many times. Granted, she landed more blows then she received, but she did get hit. Also, seeing as how DOA was winning in part one, I'ld say giving FF the advantage this time around was a fair trade.

Well my friend you have to remember that one day out of the blue sora got a keyblade and could instantly fight with it. I understand that training with a wooden sword gives him some exp but if you have ever held a real sword in comparison u will notice thier almost nothing alike. So if u think like the creators then the ability to fight with the keyblade comes from the keyblade itself. Like if fighting were passed down from keyblade owner to keyblade owner. (Olympus for example)

Back on topic: Kairi fights really well here, and it'd be cool to see her fight in Destiny Islands or something like that when she fights later on. There was a picture I saw with her and some girl with guns. Maybe she'll fight her! I'm excited now.

i think most people are getting confused by the way this fight is. i thought i would just point that out, since i read most of the comments and some people are wondering why kairi and rachel are here, even though they aren't part of final fantasy or DOA. it's a production fight. rachel, belonging to techmo and kairi belonging to square. so it's more like Square vs. Techmo. thought i would establish that :). FF RULEZ! FFF! Final Fantasy Forever! :D

From here on out there are one on one duels... I believe part three is Rikku Vs Ayame. Rikku will be using 'dress spheres' in the fight, there was a contest on DA to make a few custom dress spheres for the battle. Should be coming out in 2009

I'm saying that Monty Oum was using voice files from Melty Blood for Rinoa and Kairi. He used Sion and Len's data from the Melty Blood game and used their voices in this video because, as far as I know, there are no Final Fantasy fighting games featuring these girls for them to have actual voice actors.

Personally I think Rinoa (girl with wings) was way too strong. She was never shown with godlike powers to that extreme in the game. It's fine that things are exaggerated in Dead Fantasy, but her powers were a tad excessive imho. . .and this is coming from someone who's ROOTING for the FF Team XD The time magic, potions and Kairi going into valor mode were the highlights of this vid. Thank you so much for posting, I really appreciate seeing this and the audience reactions.

I think that Rinoa is more of a fanfiction Rinoa. For example I've seen alot of Rinoas in fanfiction with this kind of power because she is a sorcerous. The wings are meant to come out when she is at full power.

people don't get angry just because unico voiced his/her opinion, he/she isn't even being antagonistic. I LOVE THIS VID don't get me wrong, but it was very onesided for most of it, and kairi did not need to be there at all, it just became 5vs4 and its true her model did seem not as good as the other. Also, tifa was totally overpowered (she was awesome tho still!) but her materia use was so unfair most of the fight. hopefully dead fantasy 3 will make the fight a bit more even =D Go monty!
