Getting to watch all of this in chronological order, I find it absolutely fascinating how you, maybe unintentionally, started laying the groundwork for the Nephilim, way back when you were working on the hunter! The Worship of False Gods, the red around the mouth, the exaggeration of human traits into something inhuman, the idea of his group having a visual language marking them as something "other" to the people of the area, the Dragon association, all tie in well with the eventual established concepts of the nephilim! Its such a fun part of the creation process when you can go back and look at things you've already worked on and find those threads already laid out! Also the introduction of Tempering Wool in your sheperd video gives a basis for the tempered glass idea you mentioned in your Glass video! From one writer to another, you are truly well into mastering the craft!

Matt, I've followed you since the time you make submissions to the ILM challenge! I'm so happy to see you becoming a talked-about, consistent creator. My dream is to see your designs in fluid 2D animated movement one day; maybe with the current indie animation scene flourishing, I will get to see as much. Love your progress!

@mattrhodesart When watching the video I was thinking how your art style looked strikingly similar to this really cool Dune fan art I saw about a decade ago. So I then went down the rabbit hole of trying to find those images again, which I did, and lo and behold they were from you lol

Hahaha that's so funny and yet so amazing an incident. Love the idea that the art style stuck with you so much to be able to call back to it a whole decade later!

Question, So the shipwright Is like Noah?
@delfandoh82934 күн бұрын
I think so, the basis of the story is the antedeluvian age (the ages before the flood). If you read genesis 6, you will see the mentions of nephilims, which is then exploree more in a apocryphal book of enoch. This also tracks with giants and dinosaurs as before the development of science, things like fossils and ancient caveman bones are also considered remains from the antedeluvian age. This is my interpretation tho

What I also like about the tale of Noah is that his generation is the first generation that lives after Adam has passed away. Meaning, his father lived in the time that the first created human still lived and thus had a close connection to God/creation. Also the implications are very telling; humanity messed up so badly after we have lost that connection, that God had to destroy humanity... Or to put it in other words; save humanity, the earth and all of creation by allowing Noah and his family to start over again and provide a clean slate. Most likely humanity would have destroyed everything themself if God would not have intervened. True insane times. I absolutely love your works and the creativity and love you put in the work :) Absolutely will track your progress. Perhaps an idea I have been playing around with is that the earth before the great float was a "true living" silica-based being (instead of us carbon-based beings). Living slowly and sprouting giant rocky trees the likes as world trees as yggdrasil from norse mythology. These living titans would fruit valuable materials such as marble, granite and metals as well as crystals and gemstones and would be harvested and used by the early humans.

Historical fiction is the best, and your dedication to it is soooo good. In regards to nephalim, look to the connection to the 13 bloodlines of 'rulers' that have persisted to this day. How these families wield the 'powers and principalities' that are bound to the nations these families rule

And i KNOW that women arent dragons yet... Came to check out the rest of the series after watching on watcher designs which were top notch. but while i also got that from all wild humanoid designs that you drew they all were men, with women all just kinda falling into same generic model body type. i first noticed it with the serpent chick, which after the redesign still looked more like a cosplayer in a decent fit rather than someone who devoted maybe decades of their life to hunt, even just a bit more interesting pose could have done a lot with her design, maybe have her be more lanky in proportion and her pose be unnatural viewing with her entire body as if possessed. And the same stuff with all the rest, the average not in human or even super human proportion but just what average body type would be acceptable to advertise on, like come on if we can get as wild as possible with dinosaurs we could with girls too! Saying all this with love and just a hope that future designs could get even better with wider variety

Im still a bit unsure of what the relationship to the Bible really means here. It is an amazing project with impressive art and great videos around it. But I’m unsure what the intent is behind it. Or I guess your connection to Christianity.

It uses the bible for inspiration its purpose is artistic IE for the fun of the man drawing it.
