Even a 5 second repair for Ali means 30 minutes for Big Boss, plus the time of tracking, invoicing, and perhaps a 10% share of the shop's daily cost of operating (mortgage/rent, business taxes, water, electric, insurance, business license, upkeep and usage of specialized tool, etc.) The customer may think the repair cost for such a repair is expensive, but the customer does not see the big picture of the expense of operating a business.

Eventually the companies put many small capacitors so that in the end one fails and there you have the entire laptop that does not turn on, programmed obsolescence, just a simple component that is already programmed to last a certain time, thank goodness we have NortridgeFIx

why so many laptops go bad? Is it because laptops are intrinsecally bad design, meaning they cannot stand the heat build up? Is it bc manufacturers are cheap and use mediocre parts? I get the portability and AIO advantage they have, but they are extremely expensive and deffective compared to desktops and even tablets.
