I'm going either Jacob for his critical hits ability or Ryan for increased physics after dodge/block and the healing when you knock someone down seems like you could figure out ways to heal yourself when you're out in the world and can't find health. Like running away and continuously drop kicking enemies until your health goes back up.

I went with Dani first and she legit caught my eye from the beginning, defeinitely fits me, i make sure to give her the maim abilities, Mostly damage boost and Health Regen, and Dodging feels so smooth when you wanna parry zombies, which helps me regain health as well. Shes basically a berserker.

i picked ryan, he regains health all the time and with him being a former male stripper, he is definitely by far the funniest character with the best dialogue with him screaming out things like "hey, touching is extra!" he makes the game more fun in my opinion

I went with Jacob; I found if you run the card that increases your attack speed when you maim you can still build massive stacks of that damage boost even with a super heavy/slow weapon (put the gain Health on maiming card on and you never need a medkit again)

I chose ryan. I always used sam in the previous dead islands and loved his style. I was a bit let down that they didnt have the same skill setup like the previous ones. Looks alot better instead of these skill cards. For ex sam was able to basically shoulder smash zombies when sprinting. And no one that i know has specific abilites. Like sam specializing in blunt weapons or that asian chick specializing in sharp weapons.

I'm using Ryan, I definitely find blocking easier and seems more in line with his skills. I have him set up to where doing almost anything gives a minor health boost. So far, my favorite weapon is the shovel, but I haven't seen one higher than grey yet.

The only reason why Carla is better than Dani is their personality. I don't know, Dani sounds annoying for me. Might just be me with my party animal self liking Carla's vibe. She seems having a blast all the time out of all the slayers.

So depending on which character my friends pick when we all play it together it's either gonna be Bruno or Ryan. I don't know about one of my friends but the other one I just know he's no doubt gonna play Ryan because he's the closest to Sam B and also because he's a male dancer lol. I feel like Bruno is best for coop play anyway because the whole backstap feels like a skill that's designed around coop. Like saving your friend when they get overwhelmed. Curious how he handles with melee combat, I want a character where I can pick up just about for the most part any weapon and kick ass without feeling like every weapon is super weak. Kinda like John where you could use something like a sledgehammer or a katana and he would still tear shit up whereas character's like Sam B were best for heavy weapons and Xien Mei was best used for bladed weapons for example.

I've got Bruno to lv 22 so far. He's very well rounded and Excels at crit dmg. Definitely one of my favorites since I prefer doing crit builds for ridiculous ungabunga dmg lol, and it works perfectly for melee and ranged

I'm going with Dani or Karla for my first play through. I need to get all up in the zombie face for some brutal hammer work.... and block all the way for me. Take a hit and send it right on back. A quick dodge could get you right behind a zombie for a backstabbing attack.

Dani : She is such a beast and definitely one of my favorite Slayers. You’re basically a Tank that can regenerate health, & do INSANE AMOUNT of damage. Jacob : He is also a beast, especially if you wanna go up front & personal to slash everything in your way to stack Damage Carla : She’s very good, a strong tank, but has VERY low critical damage which is the unfortunate part. Ryan : It seems he’s the most popular choice over Carla. If you tend to play more passively, DEFINITELY PICK RYAN. Bruno aka Lil Pump : He’s meh. Very situational and requires a certain playstyle to be effective. If you aren’t using him right, you won’t get much out of him Amy : Same as Bruno. She’s very situational & requires a certain playstyle. If you like throwing weapons, & being very agile, she’s the one. All in all, i feel like Dani & Jacob are arguably the two best characters in the game imo. They’re just too good & feel like ppl are sleeping on Dani. I see more ppl use Jacob & Ryan.

@@lBadSport Yes he has a high crit damage, but to put that in effect even more, you’d have to backstab your enemies which is why I say it’s situational at times. Getting those would be difficult unless, you play a bit stealthy to initiate the attack. I wouldn’t say he’s the top Slayer though. Definitely not over Dani or Jacob. If you know how to use Bruno effectively to get the most use out of him, then hell, go all in & slay my man. I’ve tried playing as Bruno & i just can’t get adjusted to how he’s meant to be played.

​@End I mean at lv.17 after I got my hands on Peggy and a couple of crit stacking mods I did 12k dmg with a single headshot and 1 shot a inferno crusher. So no u don't HAVE to get backstabs but it would increase it ig. Idk what all the multiplier numbers for everything is yet, but the dmg increase from just a backstab alone doesn't seem to add much dmg without stacking with other stuff.

yes he can. as long as you are behind the zombie at all. its also really good to use an electric weapon so when they get stunned you can just stand behind them and go to town

Numen cards are really powerful I chose Ryan and 2 of his cards at if you go down and have full rage and a forceful explosion will happen and drain your fury and hit zombies for health the next one zombies slain with elemental fire shock or caustic will trigger an explosion of the same elemental type

I started this game knowing absolutely bugger all about how the different slayers play, so seeing how Amy was the seemingly more agile character, I love me a good agility build, so I picked her. I ended up going with Dani and she’s actually just insane. I was never fond of playing super stealthy and sneaking/running past the threat. Dani let’s you go right in, using brute force to get through the zombies. Super fun.

I picked this game up after work last night for our Series X. It's so much fun that my fiancee wants me to buy a copy for our PS5 as well so she can play (because sharing sucks). I'm really stoked the Dead Island 2 developers allow us to use firearms in the game. At any rate, I'm using the firefighter guy as my main. I like his attacks and feel so far. Further, I find the speed in which he performs actions to be adequate for what I need. I only got to play a few hours last night but this is Saturday and as soon as this video ends I'm playing all freaking day! Addendum- I do not have the option to choose dodge.

Wile there may b others who r btr at the start do to inate abilities, u get skill cards in the game that allow u to do evrything the other characters can do pretty much. I honestly think with Bruno's speed it makes him nearly untouchable late game, specially if u make a build that goes toward healing wen u maime and tear apart enemies.

I don't really know which I'm going with. It most likely won't be the one that's built around throwing weapons just because I've found that its annoying to find your weapons again after throwing them. Whether its because they've clipped through some geometry or got blown/exploded off screen and you don't know where. Considering this is a melee focused game it would kinda suck to throw all of your weapons (because..well..that's what the character is built to do) and all you have left is your fists. Unless there's an ability like in...I think it was Riptide where you'd throw your weapon and it come back to you. Think the ability was called Boomerang or something like that. Never did try that character because it would have taken time/skill points to make the character worth playing and I didn't want to be behind (in terms of progression) because I was trying to make the character, imo, worth using. Other then that I'll probably pick the one that's good with smashing style weapons. Just love watching the zombies go all ragdoll after you swing and launch them in the air.

Her innate skill of divide and conquer is really more useful than anyone gives it credit for. Especially bosses. And her throwing skill has gotten me about it quick stamina boosts. I'm in the Amy camp. I love her voice and design and she is a blast to play. If you ever played Xian Mei you know what Amy is all about. There are others that are stronger but she is fun as hell. I'm alone in it but her innate skills work when they need to IMO of course... It's all subjective...

"Left Back 4 Dead Blood Island 2". Had this been released before "Back 4 Blood" I would be less worried about whether I wasted $$ on my pre-order. Thank God I didn't have to pay for that mess. I just hope my friends don't all play best with the same character, there's gonna be some arguing over Co-op, unless all three people can use the same one. Considering how Devs are with updates and patches these days, It could be a totally different game in 6 months. But, I'm 60 yrs old and have to find something to complain about. We'll find out tomorrow.
