This scene always left me speechless, a tale of a man caught between two civilisations, rejected by both of them. Nobody.

This soundtrack is the most epic ever. I love the movie and have an emotional connection to the soundtrack. I have played my guitar so fucking loud against the backdrop of this movie. Neil's playing is so visceral. This movie is a masterpiece. I love it on so many levels.

The repetition of the soundtrack was my only criticism of the movie. After 10-12 viewings I got into it. One of my all time fav flix

I've always been a bit of an outcast too, having gone through various things as a kid that set me apart from the others (car accident at 2 yrs old, early development, harrassment, moving to 4 different cities before I was 11) This name of "Nobody" reminds me of a time when I lived on a Metis reserve in a trailer with my (white/caucasian) family when I was 9 or 10, and I was walking up to the dining room table that had my uncle (who was visiting) and my 2 brothers (that I lived with) sitting around it. When I was just about to sit in the last empty chair, my uncle plainly looked at me and said "You can't sit there." When I asked why, he said "Because Nobody is sitting there." When I said "Well then I can sit there," he just insisted "No you can't. Nobody's sitting there." My brothers smiled too, and joined in on the joke. I just stared at my uncle, wondering why he, a guy I knew only to be a 30-some year old engineer, was suddenly toying with me, and also wondering when he would give up this pretense. He actually kept it going for several minutes, with my brothers blocking the seat with their hands. It just goes to show that sometimes people can act like there is a a seat for Nobody and there is not a seat for you. For all those times, it's just better to feel like an outcast.

Speaking as someone coming from a mixed Cherokee-Choctaw-Scot-Irish family who has never known my biological father, this scene - really the entire film - always hits me in the chest. It speaks to so many of the social/cultural inadequacies, or machinations, that contribute to entire identities and cultures being made practically invisible within a society that visualizes everything as oppositional or 'black and white'. Gary Farmer will always and forever be THE MAN!✊🏽

fascinující že snad ve všech titulcích které jsem viděl je ta část o lovu jelenů přeložená tak špatně... pokud by to někoho zajímalo, američtí indiáni považují zvířata za "národ" nebo "lid" srovnatelný s námi. Proto "stalking the elk people" skutečně znamená "stopoval jsem jelení lid"
