At first they would let it go like that from canisters, and would have to be waiting, sometimes for days, for wind to blow towards enemy positions. Only later would poison on aerial bombs and artillery shells become a thing.

The movie used in the video is called An Assault of the Dead: the legend of Osowiec fortress, by Andrey Grachev. It's not a Hollywood movie but is still amazing to look at. The only versions I have come across is fully dubbed in Russian, although the original movie was in Russian and German. Definitely recommend checking it out

This story is fuckign terrifying at first sight. When you actually start imagining it from the Germans PoV it gives you nightmares. Imagine how fucked up the german soldiers were afterwards, mentally. Havign seen humanity's worst nightmares coming true. Litteral zombies rising, bloodstained, with pieces of their lungs on their uniforms, charging at you with bloodstained eyes full of rage.

In WW1 battles was often called.off by both sides do to unfavorable weather, normally they use the gas was when the wind blowing to the foes, and the gas was heavier then air so it would sink into trenches.

Been waiting on this one. It resonates hard for me. My MOS in the army was designated NBC nuclear, biological, chemical warfare specialist. Trained soldiers to prepare for that crap if it ever came down to it. Early in WWI protection was a joke against the effects as was the training the poor soldiers received against it. Can say that has changed, drastically.
