Sabaton - The Attack of the Dead Men (Vocal Cover in Russian | RADIO TAPOK) --- Reaction Video!

Welcome everyone to my newest video! This is actually my very first viewer request video that I did. Its from a very popular metal band called Sabaton but covered in Russian. Now I love metal music and all and this was insane with the Russian language. Russia.... you got an outstanding language, especially for metal music!
Now I have heard Sabaton before and listened to a few songs but this one I have not heard before. The effects in this video are out of this world. I wish movies would make more war battle scenes like this instead of the lame ones they have now. Anyways overall this video kicked ass and the song was outstanding.

Osovec - During the First World War, the fortress was besieged and attacked three times by German troops, including using chemical weapons. The Russian garrison of the fortress repelled all the assault attempts, withstood the siege of many times superior enemy forces for six months and withdrew only by order of the command after the strategic expediency of further defense fell away.

The "hundred men charge again, die again" line isn't about hundred men replacing the hundred fallen before them. It's about the hundred defenders of the Osowiec fortress - all that remained after the fortress was gassed (counterattacking the German forces moving in), combined with Sabaton lyrics playing up the undeath theme, as if the Russian soldiers actually were undead, dying and coming back again. While in reality they were dead men walking (no more protection than rags against poison gas), with gas burning out their eyes and lungs, making them bleed and cough up their own lungs, knowing that they WILL die and with nothing left to lose they still continued to do their duty and tried to push the enemy away (which they did). Radio Tapok's lyrics actually tone down the undeath theme and in general are pretty different from the original in that regard. It goes somewhere along these lines if we're going iteral translation: There's thunder in the east, Wilhelm' plan is doomed Thinking it will an easy fight, being intoxicated by war Germans released the gas, taking hunders of souls in an instant And yet their soldeirs saw how the dead stood up again They're all sickned up Knowing how it ends they've still been pushing forward Osowiec, death, corpses, poison The dead platoon went into the attack They were moving on to win You cannot kill something that's already dead Dead fields, Hindenburg against the TsarAnd attack of the dead sent the enemy into panicCoughing up blood, spitting it outEverybody knew that they're already deadMarching upon the enemy, Russians charged with bayonets ready They're all sickned up Knowing how it ends they've still been pushing forward Osowiec, death, corpses, poison The dead platoon went into the attack They were moving on to win You cannot kill something that's already dead

Yes, I liked your reaction! I'm hoping you'll do one to the short movie too. And the interesting thing... Neither German neither Russian command expected Osowiec's defenders to hold for that long - even Russian command expected two days at best. They held for months, and that's probably one of the reasons Germans used the gas - the siege was going on for too long, and the gas should've been a gurantee at wiping out the defenders. And I find "The attack of the dead men" heroic and terryfing at the same time. It's a story of bravery and determination of Russian soldiers but also the absolute horror that warfare can impose upon both sides and it still won't matter in the long run. There's a good reason German soldiers paniced - as 7000 Kaiser's best went in to occupy the fortress. They expected that some defenders might still be alive but nobody should've been in fighting condition. Now imagine that you're one of the German soldiers and you're getting counterattacked by bleeding, burnt Russians AFTER they've been gassed, with bayonets ready and all. And then Russain artillery starts shooting again. In such circumstances I'd say it's only reasonable to think that these were dead coming back to life and trying to take you with them. Allegedly, German higherups were ordering the retreated soldiers to go back as "there are just few of them, you'll easily kill them", to which soldiers responded that there were no living there. Yet while german assault on Osowiec failed, remaining defenders of the fortress were soon evacuated and the fortress partially blown up as warfront changed and made defending Osowiec pointless.

An interesting fact, this cover came out before the original. Radio Tapok impressed Sabaton with its videos so much that they invited them to write a cover before the release of the album. Now these groups often interact with each other (for example, at the Sabaton concert in Moscow, this song was sung ft. Radio Tapok). So, before releasing a new album all over the world (July 19), they suggested Radio Tapok to write a cover for this song. It so happened that the cover was ready before Sabaton's album went on sale worldwide.

The fact that Powerwolf did something with his video isn’t the point to hate this guy. He is very very talented and he does amazing translations of songs of popular metal/rock bands into Russian. It’s hard to find the translation of some word in other language and put in the rhythm of the song. And also you need to save the common idea of the song. That’s amazing what he does. I’m from Russia and I’m very proud of this guy. If you’d like to listen to another his wonderful cover, then do “Night Wiches”/“Ночные ведьмы» (Sabaton) or “Mein herz brennt” (Rammstein). Also if you want to listen to more Russian metal music, I’ll recommend you such bands as “Arkona”/«Аркона» (pagan folk metal) and “Ariya”/“Ария» (Russian Iron Maiden :)). These are scenes from the short historical movie called "Attack of the dead men: Osowiec", or "Атака мертвецов: Осовец" in Russian, made by Belarus studio Wargaming, developers of one of the most popular online game World of Tanks. But... but during the WWII small Mongolia become very valuable ally to the USSR. Trains with Mongolian GIFTS arrived at least 6 times: tons of meat (game, horse, beef), furs, fur hats, leather belts (for officers and soldiers), leather holsters, sugar, salt, vodka, tobacco, mobile fur houses ("yurta" - dome-like nomad's house kinda tents or wigwams), underneath clothing, wool coats and dressing, wool (felt) boots, leather boots and shoes, hospital sandals, medical supplies (bandages, gauze, cotton wool) etc... etc.. I can't remember the exact tonnage of goods, but all items (except for fur houses) were numbered in tens of thousands of pieces and thousands of tons. These were very heavy trains... And all of these neccesities were GIFTS: no any payment was required ever. Later the USSR paid his gratitude to Mongolia, helping it to become modern country. For example, the only Mongolian astronaut mr. Gurragcha was launched with the Soviet "Soyuz" SULV for free. I mean Mongolia paid nothing for his orbital fly, training etc...

I can say that you fail you first experience of that video in understanding. I'm from Belarus and translation is hardly true. Yes,it is origional text, but Oleg have another sence in Russian version.

Зря ты так! Человек показывал СВОЮ реакцию на определенные эпизоды. Конечно, слушать урывками не очень приятно, но еще хуже, когда комментатор приглушает оригинал и говорит прямо во время исполнения. You're wrong. The commenter shows HIS OWN reactions for specific episodes. Well, it isn't comfortable to hear the "fragmented" song, but it is better then to hear the commenter's voice just over the song being singed.
