Late to party. Just bought this game. I'm a big zombie fan. Bought it cause it reminds me of TWD. And I love, love that series. Love your play through.

Thanks a lot for watching! Dead of Winter is very atmospheric and it certainly has a lot in common with The Walking Dead. Really glad that you enjoyed the video. Hope you have fun when you get around to playing!

Glai & Pat: All I can say is WOW! This was one of the best playthroughs I have seen. It was edge-of-the-seat right until the end. The expression on Glai's face when she drew the last card during the search was priceless. Both of you deserved the win, and it would have been an injustice if one of the final rolls of the exposure die would have come up as a 'Bite'. I really like this game and I'm glad that you chose to feature it. I hope you will be playing more cooperative games in the future, as it is more fun to see you work together during the game and offer each other thoughts on strategy. With Halloween just around the corner, It might be a good opportunity to feature another cooperative game with a horror theme... maybe Eldritch Horror? Great job as always.

Keith, thank you so much for that kind comment. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the playthrough. We really did feel tense the whole way through the game - it throws so much at you and it always feels as if it is balancing on a knife-edge. We really enjoy cooperative games (though next week's game is the polar opposite!) and we will definitely be doing some more in the future. It's really nice to work together on our strategies to beat those games. We have some special plans for October too, and you will be seeing some horror themed cooperative games. We will release a news video at the end of this month to fill you guys in on our plans!

Wwwwow was that an epic finish! Superb planning to get that fuel. And to be honest, there were a few other decisions/plans along the way that compensated for poor rolls and card pulls (remember all that NOISE?). Very intense. BTW, I really appreciate the endgame analysis at the end of your playthroughs.

Hi RipTide. Thanks a lot for the comment. This was one of our most intense playthroughs. Dead of Winter is really challenging, and this scenario is particularly difficult so there is little room for error. We were really delighted to be able to win it! Really glad you like the end game analysis!

Thanks Marlon! We have heard great things about This War of Mine, so we did manage to get our hands on a copy. We haven't had a chance to play it yet. It will be a while before we get around to it but some day we will indeed play it on the channel, so please keep an eye out for that! :-)

Thank you Philip. Dead of Winter is a tough game, especially on hardcore level so you need to keep sharp, but that is what makes it so much fun. You always feel as though the zombies are going to get to be too much but we just about made it in the end! At higher player counts there is a possibility of a traitor and that adds another dimension to the game but we found it to be lots of fun and just as tense on 2-player!

Awesome play through! Great strategizing and team work! Some clutch card draws (like that gas at the end). I’m happy you guys won the game and with 4 morale! I’ve seen other game play throughs where their morale just plummeted and they lost with turns left. I got dead of winter but it’s sitting on my table still in its plastic. I wanted to gain knowledge of the game before playing it. Thanks for the video, I hope you two will continue play more of dead of winter! I see you have other dead of winter videos which I plan to watch another day. I hear the expansion and dark night are great too. Can’t wait to watch more 🙂

Hi Kennith. Yes, "Kill Them" is a very tough scenario and we just barely managed to scrape though it in the end. Things can go pear shaped very easily. We're delighted you enjoyed the playthrough. We have one other playthrough of the game, when we played recently with The Long Night expansion ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/imHdpWOqYr2qaJY ). I'm sure you will enjoy Dead of Winter when you get it to the table. It is very tense but a lot of fun. Please let us know how you get on when you get to play it!

I find it more fun to watch you play DoW than to play the actual game. You're such a great couple. The game has great components but an odd mix of excellent and poor game mechanics. We've played a couple of times with five players and I wouldn't recommend that, since it's often a real drag for those who are waiting for their turn. Having three players is probably the best. The narrative is the strong and weak part of the game. On the one hand it can be exciting and give you a feeling of (cinematic) urgency, on the other hand some parts just don't make any narrative sense whatsoever. There's typically very little movement in the game. Characters just move to their locations and then stand there while you pull cards until the game is finished. All-in-all I think it's a half decent game but not nearly as good as the initial hype would make you believe.
@AllAboardBoardgames4 жыл бұрын
Hi SIrbrastias! Thanks again for your kind comment. We're delighted you enjoyed our playthrough. We had a lot of fun doing it, though we felt tense the whole way though. I have read a lot of people saying that it is not good as a 2-player game, but even though we don't have a betrayer in the 2-player version, hardcore level is very challenging and kept us on our toes right through it. We really enjoyed that. We were fortunate with the narrative in our game. Everything seemed to make sense, though I could see how in some games the story might not match with what is happening in the game. As regards movement, yeah, Forest Plum and Bev Russell spent the entire game at the colony so I see where you are coming from there. I have to say though that we liked it a lot and enjoyed trying to reason it out between us. Have you played any new games lately?
@SIrbrastias4 жыл бұрын
@@AllAboardBoardgames Your game was thrilling indeed and I understand you liked it. I definitely like playing two-player better than five-player, so I'm with you there. I think the teleporting of items back to base and "mom" firing double sniper rifles across town feel a bit odd, but those are the parts you have to ignore to really enjoy the game. Regarding new games, I've tried really hard to avoid buying new games in the hope I'll actually get to play the ones I have first... I have a long list of games I own that I haven't played or that I've only played once or twice. The newest game I've played lately is "Undaunted Normandy". It was alright but unfortunately not quite as good as I expected. Other than that, I've spent a lot of hours play testing and proof reading, but I've also gone back to play John Butterfield's D-Day games, along with some quick Terraforming Mars solo sessions on my PC.
@AllAboardBoardgames4 жыл бұрын
@@SIrbrastias Yes, good point on the teleporting. When I was learning the game I had to check the rules a couple of times to make sure that it was correct. I guess they had to sacrifice some of the theme for gameplay - it would be nigh on impossible if the character had to go back to the colony and then back to the location again, rolling for exposure each time... I can handle "Mom" firing the sniper rifle (assuming she knew how to use one!) a bit more if the locations were not far from the colony and there was a high point there, such as a watch tower. However, arming Sparky with a shotgun and taking out zombies with him is probably not the most realistic thing I have ever seen! haha I guess sometimes we just have to ignore some details for the sake of the game... As for the new games, I get you there. Buying new games is an addiction, even when you look at your shelf and see a bunch you haven't played yet. Ah yes, you mentioned that you were a big fan of John Butterfield! Are you a play tester? That's very cool! Do you play Twilight Struggle online at all?
@SIrbrastias4 жыл бұрын
@@AllAboardBoardgames I have the Twilight Struggle app and played the AI a couple of times but haven't played online. Unfortunately, the few gaming buddies I have aren't into such modern ideas.
