Thanks so much for sharing this. It's a treasure that we can watch this today in any form -- hard to believe this was 18 years ago.

I remember this. It was almost impossible to watch it. My internet was just way too slow lol!!

And you are right, Pete's live vocals shine on this video. Makes you wonder why he preferred to lip-sync or sing over pre-recorded tapes.....

Never released in Europe and America. In 2016, a new edition of Fragile was released in CD and LP in Sophisticated Boom Box. In 2017, a new edition of Unbreakable was released but only on LP
@MRDL2361235 жыл бұрын
Unbreakable CD was in the boom box, too, but it wasn't any different from the version originally released in Japan (apart from the artwork). The UK version of Fragile in that box set did offer a few different mixes- My Heart Goes Bang, for instance, was a completely different vocal take. There's a lot of complaints online about what did and didn't end up in the box set, but there's so much great stuff included I hate to think people don't bother because of the errors- most of which were fixed anyway. I like Fragile, it's a very strong album and could have been successful in the west if given a chance.

I think he is getting sophisticated. He may feel a little uncomfortable because of the lighting and the song. Breaking the formal scale of sound was the job of him and his musical companions.

Maybe the Avex Channel (or Channel A) has a footage with a better image and audio quality
@jeframp38053 жыл бұрын
if somone has better quality I hope they share it, good dead or alive clips that are fully live like this are rare.

This is also the best video quality of this particular concert, thus far that I've seen (end of 2021). Could you name the band musicians in this lineup?
@jeframp38053 жыл бұрын
I am so supprise nothing better exists as it was 2001 and professionally filmed and streamed to thousands and released . Dvd recording was possible then. Even a vhs wouldn’t have deteriorated that much unless it had been overplayed but you’d imagine somebody else would have a copy

Weird you can hear one of the backing singers louder than Pete....

surely there must be a better recording it was 2001. unless dial up made it imposible and too slow.

He's too thin here...looks like he's been on drugs or something... I know he was really into MDMA at some point.. But thank you for posting.. It's still great. I wish he'd have stopped the plastic surgery procedures at this point
@AboutCinemaTechnologies3 жыл бұрын
He really looks thin here. Around 2001-2002, he had a rather thick face for some reason.
@jeframp38053 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was a massive drug user. I think he did missuse and get overpescribed drugs in the 00s because of pain and that with surgeries and mental health. Did not know he did MDMA and that sounds unlikely. Don't think thats true at all.
@Sarc0n3 жыл бұрын
@@jeframp3805 he himself said in an interview that the only drug that for him was pleasing was MDMA/Ecstasy but then he decided to quit, he wasn’t that much into drugs even though he tried some of them
@mamorutypical3 жыл бұрын
Pete wasn’t a big drug/alcohol user. The only drug he probably could’ve been taking at the time were probably some misused pain killers or something. And Pete took MDMA around the late 2000’s/early 2010’s and stopped quickly after
