Glad to have my concerns proven wrong with the showcase yesterday. The game looks incredibly good! The character redesigns are a hit or miss and I'm really going to miss TJ Rotolo as Frank, but I think that this Remake will turn out pretty good. This is the last video I'm gonna be putting out on DRDR except for a possible review or something when it releases. Getting back to work now on the Dead Rising 3 video. Have a good one!

I think people forget, Carlito was NOT killed by Larry. He died from the gutshot bullet from Brad during their final fight. The point about dying amongst meat still stands, but Larry did not kill Carlito. Kidnapped him sure to grind him up, but Carlito's death was by Brad's hand not Larry's.

@@guilhermehank4938 The hook was around his feet. I’m certain that definitely sped up the process of bleeding out but it was still Brad that killed him ultimately, which makes his death all that more meaningful and not in vain. Brad was definitely the MVP in DR1.

Considered that this remaster is also dubbed in Chinese, it is in their marketing business's best interest to alter out the... (questionable stereotype design?) Larry had in the original, consider how sensitive this modern mad age is. Any kind of small things that could be twist as racism is something Capcom doesn't want to risk happening. That being said, is Larry Chiang's old design stereotype and racist? Personally, being a Taiwanese, I don't feel that malicious design intend. I'm more leaning toward the intentional disgusting aspect because how greases and obese Larry looked, especially when you're made to look at him in the face, and I'm fairly certain that was the both the art director and script director's intention for the whole encounter and aftermath. The whole room with those processed meat was a set up for Carlito's speech to compare consumerism to zombies.

When it comes to remasters, personally I love it when they take the OG, and ask “what if this was made today?” Mafia 1 answered this question with outstanding results. Breathing new life in a 2 decade old game. They added new areas, I loved it. I hope they do that, I’d love to see some new parts of the mall, or the town. Personally I wish they’d would have taken some elements from DR2 like crafting to really reinstate the core ideas of dead rising, not just a beautiful remake. But, it’s okay. I’m sure with this level of detail and ATTENTION this will sell fine to fans and newer users alike. Can’t wait to get my hands on this.

That fast forward option will come in handy during overtime mode. I don't know if you remember, but during overtime mode there's a lot of waiting around for the next mission to start and I remember there's not much else to do except for wait around so I was kind of just standing there. Even after you have to do the fetch quest to get all the items for the prezombrex, if you get it done fast enough you still have to wait around even more.

They have been reworking the engine for a while to REX engine I think it's called. So maybe some of those improvements will be in this. Honestly they probably started the engine changes for this and the new Resi since this game will have a ton on screen at once.

Your analysis on Larry’s design was pretty interesting and I like both of his designs from what little we’ve seen but his old design kinda has some story to it too depending on how you look at it Considering Larry is either Chinese or Taiwanese and the only other non-white psychopath in the original game besides Carlito his story could provide 2 different contexts which I’m gonna get very head canon-y. 1: He’s an immigrant who adopted the American way of life and serves its people with obsession. In Carlito’s eyes he’s a traitor and a sellout who should be on his side considering the US coulda conducted their experiments anywhere including Larry’s original home and America has corrupted him to the point he represents everything Carlito hates about America but in the body of a foreigner which would arguably be even worse in his eyes as America’s ideals are polluting people that aren’t even originally from there 2: He was born in America and in Carlito’s eyes aside from appearance has been completely neutered of his culture to the point of being indistinguishable from the average American including their obsession for greed and consumerism (which is also ironic considering Nick, Diego and probably the other orphans he infected considered him a terrorist and were raised as Americans)

What's funny is that after not playing this game since 2007 I recently started playing this again randomly about 3 weeks ago and thought about how awesome a remaster would be. Then literally the next morning I wake up to the announcement on my recommendations. Lol Also that being said. Amazing video. I'm more curious how will look like the true eyes cult and the special force ops remaster skin specially how the special ops uniform will look like when you unlock it through achievement and how look the skin of the raincoat and the green mask of the cult member and how sean the cult leader will look like with his greatsword. and final but more importantly how they will remaster brock the leader of the special force ops how he will look like and how they will remaster the fight area with him.

Can you explain more on why changing Larry makes sense? Playing the game for the first time back then I never saw Larry any different and the story still had its impact, so I don’t get that. Could you care to explain please? The game dose look really good but I don’t get these changes. It’s kinda put a stink on me but I’ll still play it lol. Just don’t get why they censor these games made for adults lol

The Vegeta Widow's peak is super distracting but ill still hold faith just this once Hell, seeing that ramp near the vents tells a lot of how fine a comb they went over this. This looks absolutely incredible. As someone who started with Dead Rising 2 and then Off the Record, I found that I wasn't particularly interested in going back to DR1 because of the lack of QoL improvements the second game made. So despite DR2 being one of my favorite games of that era, it is the only mainline DR game I've played (I didn't own an XB1 to play DR3 and DR4 is, well, garbage). This will give me an excellent opportunity to go back and experience the original. Also, I have high hopes that we get this treatment for DR2. I will absolutely love Capcom forever if they do.

As somebody who absolutely loves the dead rising franchise and more specifically the charcter of frank west i have my own 2 cents about the game. Firstly i actually like franks appearance, i know people are commenting on my boys hairline however i wouldnt have frank any other way. I have played dead rising 2 off the record more times then i can even remmeber and he had the biggest receding hairline only beaten by the likes of vegeta and i think it really makes the charcter, typically action/ video game heros have sterytypical attractive feature such as normal hair and so on but frank west is anything but a sterytypical hero (aside from the one liners) the amount of times both his weight and age are used aginst him along with nobody really taking him seriously adds a relatability and likeness factor, you want to see him come out ontop because hes just a goofy cartoon charcter in a normally seen horrific environment. While others are cowering your boy frank west is taking selfies with zombies for his OF. The one thing i do not like is the voice change, its why i really hated his depiction in DR4, it was way over the top and most of his line delivery made me want to slam my head into senator Armstrong's forehead. However i am open minded as long as his delivery is close to how it was in the first game. The voice of a charcter is a massive part to their identity and recognizability so once that's removed it's really hard to see the charcter the same way Overall i really hope that they dont change too much and only add stuff to better the experience, please Capcom, dont fuck this up

Just hope they do go all the way presentation wise. Cutscene to gameplay transitions? Was the OG one seamless map? I dont think so afaik there were loading times. Id like those things to be added and more ideally.

If game companies kept their remakes(boots) of games to the same tone and feeling that the originals had. I would never see a problem with buying the same game, but with remakes(boots) taking liberties to change iconic areas, cutscenes and character dialogue and just straight up removing big areas of the game that were memorable to gamers is a big problem because then if they plan an remaking all of their titles for the newer generation of consoles and pc and people in general really like the game then they can just go and change tons of key moments that have been implanted in our brains since we first played them. That’s also one of my fears with the upcoming Snake Eater remake is that a lot of changes may come into the game that drastically changes how the original made you feel and the emotions you got from playing the game
