Dude, you are so inspiring! Thanks to you I feel confident enough to paint my own truck! I really appreciate your help! Keep up the good work! I have already purchased the filler primer, base coat, and clear coat. Gun and everything in between, thanks to your guidance. I felt like a pro when I went to the store to purchase all these items. I cannot thank you enough. I believe I will be purchasing your program, once I gain some experience. I have a small painting business for around 6 yrs. now but it is with interior and exterior (home and commercial) paints. Looking forward to paint and fix cars as a money making hobby. 👍🏽

Wow, that's awesome. If you are a painter, you can paint anything! I recently painted my home as well. So good with the rollers too 😂

@@HowToPaintYourCar 🤣 Watching you sure makes me think I can paint anything. I was waiting for some materials to come so I can finally start practicing with a bumper I bought and the roof top of the truck (which has some rust issues). I have been rolling and spraying wall and ceiling paints for quite some time. So I am pretty confident with spraying. Thank you!

Thanks for this video. I am going to paint the hood of my car and regarding mixing primer, I was initially confused that it may need both reducer and hardener. I think I understand now. I’m going to use a 1.7 tip. So I’m hoping a little reducer 5-10% is good, along with the recommended hardener.

Great tips for beginners. Btw, Need your advice, I have some leftover clear coat but no hardner. Instead I have some hardner which was meant for Primer. Can I use the primer harder to mix with the clear coat . Thanks

Can you use HOK Kandys with these primes and base coats. I’m always scared to mixing products but I watched you spray house of kolor kandy on the rims and I believe you used this kind of primer and base coat. Trying to save a bit of money.

thanks man, you helped me little to overcome an issue I have as in where I live we don't have enough choices of car paint supply that help, for example Primer we have mostly acrylic , we don't have sealers and paint is sold by weight with zero instructions of ratios and mostly from Italian company called FIDEA which has the poorest support b website and zero informations on how data ,so after watching lot of helping youtube channels such yours I start practicing on external sheet metal from scratch just to find a close finish that satisfy the result. I have one question if you can guide me to go, Q: I have thick base coat ( solid paint ) and found the suitable ratio is 1:1 with thinner , can I add hardener to it to accelerate drying process without affecting the result and.

Tony, can you name instances when I would reduce the mixture other than switching to a small tip size? cb
@SeanBZA3 жыл бұрын
Reduce if it is a hot area, so that you have a longer wet time, to avoid getting a layer going on as almost a powder, instead of as droplets. By me as it is pretty much always hot I use around 10%, so the solvent flashing off during painting does not result in making what looks like flocking. Yes for some coatings the reducer is more expensive than the coating, but you need a good amount anyway to clean with before and after use. That way you can get 2k to come out with zero polishing needed, and not sit there for a day afterwards getting it smooth, and removing half the paint you just paid for and put on.
@HowToPaintYourCar3 жыл бұрын
Also, ANY reducer can be used most times. Just use any basecoat reducer to thin your primers.

They call it a tech sheet you could get that on any paint product when you buy your paint
@HowToPaintYourCar3 жыл бұрын
Yup, but when you go to most paint shops, you don’t get it. They figure you already know... Made this video so guys could simply understand what ratio your paints are by calculating what materials they gave you. I should have also mentioned that you can also just google the mixing ratio. Duh lol, that should have been the first thing I said. When making videos, you always end up missing something!! 😂

It's a beautiful product it looks great (high solids) and buffs easily. For years you can re-buff it. With that said I think it's best for showcars and I like Tamco stuff too.
