The funny thing is that the Doom Slayer was also originally a military engineer.
@ashwolf20064 жыл бұрын
@@squashmallow2006 no he was not. He was actually a marine who refused to follow orders from a corrupt Co. Whom he almoat beat to death. The Co. Got sent to an ICU. While he got demoted and sent to mars. As a guard.
@squashmallow20064 жыл бұрын
@@ashwolf2006 I know that. Even engineers do still have to take on occasional combat missions. In Doom 64, the same Doomguy was working as an engineer.

I think it's more impressive that Isaac Clarke is able to kill so many of these demonic creatures with no powers, no divine intervention (at least none like the Doom Slayer has), and no training. He just picked up some engineering equipment one day and started hackin' them apart. Isaac is a BAMF.
@EmperorsChild2 жыл бұрын
I believe I read somewhere he had some military training when he was younger but this game is perfect example of never underestimating the human will to persist in the face of death.
@adriantepes43552 жыл бұрын
The Doom slayer at up until some point wasn't the asura that we know him as now either. Infact he defeated his first Titan opponent not as an asura/demi-god.
@grimmoire59522 жыл бұрын
@@adriantepes4355 sure. But as a demi god unstoppable rage machine you can still somehow die to a normal imp. Isaac's power level is more in line with his gameplay, doom goes like "he was a nobody and killed a titan, now he's god and he can kill everything" but then gameplay has you physically dying after lore presents you as an unstoppable god

Coming back for tenth time. This edit perfectly encapsulates spirit of veteran Dead Space playthroughs. Some time ago I annually played Dead Space 2 on Hard with only plasma cutter, and it was completely badass. In the last few chapters medkits were scarce, ammo was almost non-existent. I managed to beat a rotten Beast and a horde of lesser morphs with a one and a half-mag, some junk and pure adrenaline. Every last fuсking round went in that undead mount of pus, flesh and bone. And after Beast stopped moving, I realized I never felt more alive. In the last chapter, with Ubermorph and every rotting dying thing Marker could throw at me, I had only one conscient thought: JUST. KEEP. MOVING. Everything else in me turned into mindless effective murder machine. I never thought, never prioritized, never hesitated. I just moved and shot like my life depended on it. Shoot, throw, move, heal. That was perfect. I never allowed machine in me to rest until the final cutscene of the game. Because if I did, I wouldn't have it beaten. When I finally let go of controls, I was relieved beyond imagination. I was covered in sweat. I was cold. I was reborn in digital blood and guts. After that, I searched for this thrill of fight. I started to play Dark Souls, boomer shooters, active survival-horrors. But I never achieved that state of efficiency and inner peace like in Dead Space 2. Huh, this must be what Khorne disciples feel like.

This is wonderful! I'm a huge Dead Space fan, and when I was playing second game on Hard difficulty lately, this video was exactly how I felt at the end! After this, I'm defined beating the game on Zealot. And this moment, when Isaak learns that Marker screwed with him all along, when he says my personal favourite line in all of series, and only then Hell unleashes - this is f@cking masterpiece! - F@CK YOU! AND F@CK YOUR MARKER!!!
